The warehouse where it happens- Friday afternoon

Rey had sent a text earlier that had left her reason to be concerned, but she was trying to put it out of her mind for training.

It hadn't worked the first time she tried running the obstacle course, which had ended in a fall that was going to leave some bruises tomorrow. But instead of getting frustrated about it and trying it again right away and doing something else dumb, she decided to take a break.

So for the moment at least she was sitting on the floor in front of the course with one of the books open, and that seemed to be going much better.

Anakin came in from his magic class (heh) and tilted his head at her. "You all right?"

"Fine," she said, looking up at him, and wondering if she was already visibly bruised somewhere. "Why?"

[sith_happened]

"Just picking up a feeling," Anakin said, shrugging. "Just came from a class where I was really concentrating, so I might be tuned in a little too much."

[thatwaslucky]

"Oh." She was kind of used to being the one doing that kind of sensing. "It's kits kind of a vague worry about someone who can take care of herself but I'm sure it's fine."

Probably totally fine.

"Bad feeling?" Anakin asked, smiling a little wryly. "Trust those."

[thatwaslucky]

"No feeling at all," Rey corrected, frowning. "I don't pick up anything about it."

Which sort of worried her more, because if there was some real problem she should probably have picked up on it?

[sith_happened]

"Weird," Anakin commented, frowning.

[thatwaslucky]

"Which is why I don't know if I should worry," Rey said. "If something happened, I should be able to pick up on it, shouldn't I?"

[sith_happened]

"Unless they are extremely far away, yes," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"That's what I thought." Which meant she didn't really know what to do about it, if there was anything to be done.

[sith_happened]

"That didn't really help, did it?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"No," she admitted. "Octavia went to the preserve and hasn't been seen since, and Duke's worried. But so many things could have happened and not all of them bad, so..."

She shrugged.

Anakin nodded, frowning thoughtfully. "She seems like someone who can definitely take care of herself."

[thatwaslucky]

"Yeah. And I disappeared for two weeks and couldn't get in touch and Kanan worried the whole time, but I was basically on my way here," she said. "If Finn or someone goes silent for a while it's because they couldn't talk, and I just have to wait until they can, so I don't really know what to do here."

"Thus the worry," Anakin said, nodding in understanding. "It's one of the worst things about being here. People can go back and time can work differently for them. Some people go back and time has been standing still since they came here, or it moves more quickly."

Rey nodded, having been thinking along those same lines herself. "I'm honestly more worried about Duke. Is that bad?"

Like whatever Octavia was doing, Rey was sure she was okay.

"No," Anakin decided. "It's never easy being the partner left behind, especially if it wasn't a planned trip."

[thatwaslucky]

"I get that much." She knew a little about being left behind. "So that's what's going on. I tried the course but I don't think I was really in the right place for it."

[sith_happened]

"Meditation?" Anakin suggested. "I think sparring might end up with something getting hurt."

[thatwaslucky]

"I'd be okay with meditation," she agreed. "And maybe see how things go after that?"

[sith_happened]

Anakin nodded. "You can meditate your way through Form II, if that will help."

[thatwaslucky]

"I guess I do need work on that one," Rey said.

Because it wasn't one of her favorites.

[sith_happened]

It was no one's favorite.

"And it's slow and boring and good for meditation," Anakin added helpfully.

[thatwaslucky]

"That's probably true," she said, and added, "Especially the boring part."
