Sabine had been spending a lot of time here lately. Not that she found it any easier to get to her galaxy right now, but she was coming up on her senior year and starting to think about what things looked like after that. And she had a feeling she did actually know what it looked like.

So she was playing around in the warehouse more, trying things with flammable substances she had gotten from last year's trips back to some version of home, setting things off and seeing how they worked. The ventilation worked great, nothing was big enough to be dangerous, and it probably only sounded like fireworks going off from the outside.

Creativity looks different on different people.

"I'm working," Sabine said from where she was at her work table. "Who are you and why are you in my warehouse?"

"Detective Danny Williams," he replied, giving her such a look for the whole owning a warehouse thing.

"Okay. And about that 'why you're in my warehouse' question?"

At least he hadn't brought the bucketheads.

"Noise complaints." Yep. Going with that one.

[seriesofbaddecisions]

"Uh Huh. Because I've been doing this for two years and no one's complained," she told him. "Mostly because there's no one in the warehouse district."

"Two years? You've been blowing things up here for two years?" This place was nuts.

[seriesofbaddecisions]

"Yeah. The dorms would be dangerous," she said.

"I hate this place," Danny muttered, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"If the bombs worry you, just wait for the day we get something that'll require bombs to get rid of it," Sabine said, helpfully.

Okay, Mini-McGarrett.

"No, the underaged bomb-maker is the more pressing concern right now," Danny replied dryly.

"I'm really just minding my business," she told him. "You're the one trespassing."

[hatesparadise]

"No, the thing is that those materials are controlled," Danny replied. "How the hell is this island even still standing? That's what I want to know."

[seriesofbaddecisions]

"They're not really, seeing as how I picked them up in another galaxy," Sabine told him. "And it's still standing because I'm careful and don't actually do anything that would damage the structural integrity of the island."

She shrugged.

"I mean, I live here and all."

[hatesparadise]

"Nope. Nope, we're not dealing with the space thing right now," Danny replied with so much feeling. "Just. No more explosions, okay? I get that this whole island is basically crazy-town, but..."

"...Yeah, sure, no more explosions."

There were going to be so many more explosions, Danny.

"We're clear?"

NOPE.

"Totally clear," she nodded.

"You know I can tell you're lying to me, right?" It's was a cop thing.

"I'm just trying to make your day easier," she replied.

Sabine definitely took after one space parent more than the other.

"That's--that's not how you do that," Danny replied, pursing his lips and nodding along.

[seriesofbaddecisions]

"I mean, I'm working-" Technically, kind of. "-in my own space, away from people, not hurting anyone or damaging anything but the floors. Everything is clearly labeled and locked up when I'm not here. There's even a ventilation system that means it isn't harmful to anyone in here. So really, I think I'm good."

Honestly the rampant vandalism was way more of an issue.

"And why are you doing this here?" A very good question, that!

"I had some free time."

Now she was just being a smartass.

Yeah, that may be why Danny crossed his arms over his chest and gave her A Look. That right there.
