That warehouse- Friday afternoon

For some reason a very apologetic barista was just handing out free coffee this afternoon as Rey passed the Perk, so she showed up with two cups to training today, sitting on a crate and setting the other cup on the crate next to her while she waited.

She still kind of felt like she got away with something? Not that that was stopping her from drinking it, mind.

"Hi," Anakin said, smiling as he entered. "Did the ball pit stay?"

"If I say yes will I have to train with it?" Rey asked.

[sith_happened]

"Of course," Anakin said, grinning harder.

Rey sighed, and featured at the ball pit. "Fewer balls in there this week, though."

[sith_happened]

"Fewer projecticles to throw at your teacher, then," Anakin teased.

[thatwaslucky]

"You threw back," Rey told him. "And I brought coffee this week."

[sith_happened]

"Apology accepted, then," Anakin said, grinning.

[thatwaslucky]

"It's a truce," Rey decided right this second. "So what kind of training do we do with a ball pit?"

Epic version of the floor is lava, except Anakin hated that game!

"Figuring out a drone from a projectile?" Anakin suggested.

[thatwaslucky]

"Meaning you're going to throw things at me?" She wasn't bothered anymore.

[sith_happened]

"You're getting much better at it," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"Because I'm getting used to it," she said lightly, sipping her coffee. "All right. What do you want me to do?"

"Finish your coffee, then start running the course," Anakin said. "I'll make it interesting for you."

Rey frowned a little, sipped her coffee, and then stood and placed it on her crate. "Done."

She wasn't, she was just curious.

[sith_happened]

"Very well," Anakin said, still drinking his because he could multitask and was also being a showoff. "When you're ready, we'll begin."

Rey sighed, mentally preparing for having plastic balls thrown at her, and then took off up the ramp to start the course.

Maybe she was running faster just to make it harder for him.

Anakin chuckled, appreciating that bit of fiestiness.

Then he launched a handful of balls and a couple of drone at her.

She'd expected that, so her hand shot out to block all of it as she kept going. One ball might've gotten through, but she was already past it anyway.

"Good," Anakin said, tossing up a remote to shoot at her retreating back.

[thatwaslucky]

Rey didn't push that one away, but she was able to duck under the shot to keep going.

It helped that she'd run the course enough to feel comfortable with when she could do certain things.

Anakin smiled proudly to himself, then added another few remotes to chase her as he threw ball at her front.

The one ahead of her she had no problem blocking, though once she was aware of the remotes she began ducking and weaving more, finally pushing one away to give herself some time to navigate a tricky area.

"Very good," Anakin called up to her. "Let's try a couple more."

That would bring her up to five.

"Great!"

She didn't think it was great, but she was also aware that she was doing good, pulling the practice lightsaber off her belt to bat away a bolt shot at her from behind.

Anakin had wondered how long it was going to take for her to remember the lightsaber. "Your weapon is your life!" Anakin called up, smiling, making the remotes dive for her.

She'd still be reaching for her staff first if she'd had it on her.

"You kept losing yours!" she called back, turning to slash at one of the remotes when it got too close.

"That's how I know it's better to use it than get hit by blaster bolts!"

[thatwaslucky]

Just for that, she made sure to dodge the next blaster bolt, just to do it her way.

(It felt like what Leia would do.)

Anakin laughed out loud, then added another two remotes, mostly just to push her.

She was cursing you internally, Anakin.

She was also coming up on the tight rope portion, so she spun a remote back towards him to try and give herself time to get across.

Anakin threw balls at her, determined to tip her into the ball pit.

[thatwaslucky]

She batted those away with the lightsaber- now she'd use it- getting herself back on a flat area and almost to the end of the course.

[sith_happened]

"Very good!" Anakin called up, then sent a good hundred plastic balls at her like a giant jerk.

[thatwaslucky]

She hadn't expected that, but she'd expected something, so she stopped, threw out her hand and froze them in place, then dashed off down the ramp to finish the course.

Possibly muttering something in Teedo.

Anakin laughed. "Well done."

[thatwaslucky]

"Most of that was really not fair," Rey told him.

She also kind of expected it by now. It was okay.

[sith_happened]

"Well in the real world, who really fights fair?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"In the real world, who throws balls?" Rey asked.

[sith_happened]

"Would you prefer rocks?" Anakin countered. "My master was obsessed with rocks."

[thatwaslucky]

"No thanks. I've never had anything thrown at me in a real fight."

Was that normal?

[sith_happened]

It was when Anakin fought? Did other people not throw bits of construction and debris at their kids?

"Really?" Anakin said. "Huh. Well, now you can throw things."

[thatwaslucky]

"I don't know that I should be throwing things."

She had a surprising amount of rage?

[sith_happened]

"Why not?" Anakin wondered. "It's fun."

Anakin might not be the person to listen to on this.
