Aaaaaaaallllllllllll over town, Tuesday afternoon
So! Mae had made flyers! She was really proud of them. She had a big stack of copies she'd managed to make without giving into the temptation to photocopy her butt, and she was running all over town putting them up to make sure everyone had a chance to see them!

SATURDAY
BEACH
HELLA FOODS
COSTUMES
FIRE!
BEARS??
BE THERE
Some of the flyers definitely ended up pasted to roofs and windows and the tops of streetlights. But there were plenty at normal-people eye level, too. . . .
[open! Mae is definitely interruptable as she spreads the word of PARTY]

"Who the fuck brings bears to a party," she muttered.

"Oh. It's you," she said with a sigh.

Seivarden just had to ask.

Mae shrugged. "Someone who does, you know. Normal things."

“Pfft, no.” Mae shook her head. “I never said I’m normal.”

[I SWEAR I already replied to this. . . .]

And then leaped back to perch on the lightpost to put that first one back, because she now felt bad about removing it.
Even if she wasn't sure how many other people would be seeing the flyers up here.

"Not exactly a roof dweller," she pointed out, and decided against the obvious joke about people not usually caring for rats living in their roofs, "but they are the easiest way to get around the island."
Who wanted to deal with all those stairs when you could just...leap around? On everything?
"I'm Freya," she offered, with a wave of her paw before jumping over from where she was perched to where Mae was. "Your in my magic class
that the mun keeps getting too caught up in life to do much in, right?"It was hard to forget one of the few other non-human faces around the island.

She was clearly very proud of this fact.
"You're a great jumper! Maybe even better than I am. And no one back home jumps like I do."
How they never worked out the jump-jump-jump! trick was anyone's guess.
no subject
...maybe she was now the greatest jumper...
...but she couldn't let herself think like that, and she shook her head a little, chasing away her own thoughts.
"Are you a dragoon as well?"

No one should ever give Mae a lance.

She then gestured toward a flyer that was currently flapping off the edge of a gutter. "Do you know anything about this party ?"
no subject
Mae nodded. "I know some stuff."
She was one of the hosts, after all!

Although Freya would admit, the flyer did cover quite a bit.
The bears were particularly intriguing, but Freya had a feeling she'd be disappointed, but maybe not quite in the ways most people would be.
It would just be nice to have more people with non-human faces around to talk to.
...that could actually talk back, anyway.
no subject
Mae was only sometimes aware people thought she had one of those nonhuman faces. She was pretty sure a bear that could talk back would be awesome, though.
"Well. It's going to be on the beach," Mae said. "On Saturday." That was on the flyer, yes. "It's for Midsummer."
no subject
"It's probably safe to assume that Midsummer is some sort of celebration," Freya's tone was a bit wry, "of the middle of summer? It involves costumes?"
She recalled that from the flyer, as well.
no subject
"Yup! Or possibly it's a kind of 'any excuse to wear costumes' kind of thing." She shrugged and smiled. "Because costumes."
no subject
Because if it was anything like what Burmecians wore for ritual dances, they could probably count Freya out, and she'd probably just wear her new Earth-style t-shirt and shorts...

"I guess it'll be interesting to see what everyone else goes with, then," she said, thoughtfully, figuring that, yes, it probably would just be her usual clothes, then. "I'll definitely have to check it out.
"It's not like there's much else going on around here, anyway," she added with a faint shrug.
no subject
"Right? We're at a high school full of magical teens with limited supervision! It should be hijinks central!"
no subject
"It just seems very quiet," she offered, before her head tilted thoughtfully. "Will there be hijinks at the party, do you think?"
no subject
"Oh totally." Mae had no idea what sort of hijinks there might be, but she was pretty sure Magnus would be into it, whatever it was. "I mean, did you see the note about the possible bears?"
