Summer-chan had warned Shunsui about their newest...er...helpers at the store, but where she just saw two awkward critters bordering on creepy, he saw opportunity. And though he couldn't help but wonder if maybe they'd simply never even left the store (as he assumed Apu-san never really did, either), that still only worked to his benefit. They did seem very attentitve and eager, and who was he to try to hold back the entreprenurial drive of two bright young raccoons, anyway?

"Yes, well," he chuckled after coming in to greet them, "wonderful ♥. I take it you're all set and have everything you need for all your little Bell trading. You seem to have it all quite covered, so if anyone needs me, I'll be in the back office, attending to some very important business ♥. A little sake before I go ♥? No ♥? Well, if you change your mind, you'll know where to find me ♥."

It wasn't as if he expected many visitors these days, anyway.

These boys looked very awake. They did blink sometimes but they were really pretty intense.

Anyway, they were here! Waiting for you to sell items! Did you need bell prices? They had bell prices!

Yeah, Rosa had sort of figured out how all this worked by name and had been very busy and swept into Turtle & Canary like a woman on a mission and her pockets stuffed with crap.

She took a second to look at the raccoons. Then started pulling out bags and bags of various collected goods from those endless pockets.

"Alright, raccoons," she said. "What's your best offer?"

Then, a second later: "Wait. I almost forgot."

Here. Have even more stuff. Because of course there was more.

"Look at all the fine things you've brought in today! Allow me just a moment to run the numbers..." Tommy said, totaling them up and then giving a number that was actually really good but also made you wonder why that thing you worked hard to get wasn't worth more. "Sound good?"

Yeah, Rosa had already sort of figured this whole thing was kind of a racket, but even then, and even though it was ~~presumably~~ enough, she narrowed her eyes a little.

"Seriously?" she asked, looking thoroughly unconvinced. "That's it?"

"Did you change your mind about selling?" Tommy asked.

Yeah, that's what it was worth.

Hey. It didn't hurt to at least try to haggle a little. Rosa sighed, considering how annoying it would be to put all that back in her pockets.

"No," she grumbled. "I'll still sell. Gimme those bells, you cheap little trash bandits."

They were unbothered.

"Thank you! Please come again! ...again!" Tommy said, with his weird Timmy echo.

Ugh, back again.

"What are your turnip prices today? Also hi and whatever."

"Hello! ...hello! We are buying turnips for 124 Bells today," Tommy told her.

"Ummm that's not much more than I paid for them," Alexis pointed out.

Though it was 21 bells more. Per turnip. It was something.

Timmy and Tommy stared at her.

"Can we help you with anything else? ...else?

"No," Alexis sighed. "Guess I'll try back tomorrow."

And try to get other people to buy her turnips. If you can't sell them, foist them on people for money.

He's clearly comfortable leaving the store in the hands of fuzzy critters and Apu-san, and can be found in the back office in pursuit of a nap. He had to admit, though, this constant music was starting to making napping a bit more of a challange, but what sort of self-proclaimed expert entrusted in teaching that sacred art to others would be be if he was going to let continuous, repeating music stop him?

There was a sign on the door that read "MEETING IN PROGRESS" but anyone close enough to the door would see that another line had been added:

Considering I work in a retail/grocery setting, I honestly don't think this music on repeat could be any worse than the usual music that DOES play on repeat in your typical average grocery store, anyway.

I worked at a movie theater where the tape would replay every 45 minutes so you got the same eight songs all day, every day, for an eight hour shift, for at least a month. Bring on the music that changes.

I still can't listen to "Steal My Sunshine."

Ohmygod, no. That makes me want to cry.

It was fine when my crush and I would always be like "hey it's our song!" when Will Smith's Wild Wild West came on.
