Rey's warehouse even if she won't call it that- Friday afternoon

Rey had been busy this week so it was actually the first time she'd been to the warehouse in a bit and she'd been a little worried that something would be different when she walked in. But it was still the same size, nothing was growing there that shouldn't be, there weren't any animals here besides the usual woodchucks.

So while she was waiting, she started emptying out her pockets to see what she had gotten this morning, creating piles of things to keep or sell or see if anyone else wanted. There was the usual assortment of fruits and bugs and fish (now handily in cages) but also a lawn flamingo, a peacoat, fossils that Blathers already had and wouldn't accept, a futon, a Rocket??, a nurse's costume, a lawnmower...

Maybe she was doing too much?

"Why do you have a lawnmower?" Anakin asked.

"Either it came from a sky present, I shook it out of a tree, or Boone gave it to me," Rey said, shrugging. "Do you need a lawnmower?"

"I really don't," Anakin said. "I have a ton of turnips, though."

[thatwaslucky]

"You have a day to sell those," Rey reminded him. "I stayed away from all of that but I keep hearing about them."

"Rory's obsessed. She wants a bigger library room," Anakin said. "In related news, we now have a library room. Like rich people."

[thatwaslucky]

"Rich people have library rooms?"

This was brand new information.

"Her grandparents do," Anakin said, "and we, frankly, have a ridiculous number of books."

[thatwaslucky]

"I can barely imagine it," Rey said. "I've been in one room like that, but I figured it was more of a cover for it really being a war room. I doubt anyone actually read all those books."

"Rory's read most of them," Anakin said. "She does have a to-read pile that's taller than Christopher, though>"

"Huh. I didn't know that was something people did."

She had like, nine books, and eight were ancient.

"Buy books and not read them?" Anakin replied.

[thatwaslucky]

"Yeah. But I've been reading the same ones for months," she allowed.

[sith_happened]

"Well, Jedi training tomes are boring," Anakin told her. "You should come over and pick something slightly less life-defining."

[thatwaslucky]

"I don't know that they're boring," Rey admitted. "...I can pick something?"

[sith_happened]

"You can pick three, if you want," Anakin said, grinning. "You should've seen me in the Jedi Temple library after I left Tatooine. I didn't know there were so many books in the universe."

[thatwaslucky]

"And Rory wouldn't mind?" She sounded kind of serious about this.

[sith_happened]

"To introduce the magic of books to people?" Anakin smiled. "She'll probably insist on giving you a dozen."

[thatwaslucky]

"Thank you," she said, smiling back. "I have a feeling once we're back to normal and I'm not catching bugs anymore I'll need something to fill up that time. Books would fit."

"Well, you can keep catching bugs, but I don't think you'll get money for them," Anakin teased.

[thatwaslucky]

"No, thank you. I think I've made enough by now to pay for every portal home until whenever the end of the war is, I can take a break," Rey grinned.

Maybe. She didn't know the conversion rate. But it felt like it.

[sith_happened]

"Well done!" Anakin said. "I'm amassed a collection of ridiculous hats I will never wear."

[thatwaslucky]

"You could sell them," Rey pointed out. "Or give them away."

Or wear them as a disguise next time he went to visit Jaina or something.

Beats shaving his WHOLE HEAD again!

"I like giving them away. Maybe people can wear them next Wednesday!"

It was a lot of hats.

"Oh no," Rey said, not meaning to say that out loud.

[sith_happened]

Anakin laughed. "So it's a good idea, then."
