The beach- Friday night
The beach had seen some action the last few days, and tonight... it was kind of seeing the opposite of it.
Because there was a passed-out drunk seagull snoozing on the shore.
Someone might want to help him, if they would be so kind.
[Had to, yep. Open!]

Then poked him with a stick to see if he was dead.

"Damn," Mae said. "You're alive. I guess I don't get to check your body for loot."
She was all class.
no subject
"Nnnn, don't wanna be flotsam... Can I be jetsam? It just sounds... more rugged... Zzzz...."
no subject
"Does it though?" Mae asked.
And poked him again.
no subject
"Hooooo boy. Up we go. On your feet, sailor. This isn't our first mystery beach and it won't be our last...Blugh... Swallowed a lot of seawater... Come on, get it together. Talk to the local. Here we go."

Mae was really tempted to poke him with her stick again, even though he was standing.
"Aren't you supposed to be able to fly?"
no subject
no subject
"Yes," Mae said firmly. "Yes it is. I designed the flag and everything."
The butt flag. She was so clever!
"Are you here for business or pleasure?"
no subject
Gulliver needed to get his life together.

"That part might actually be required for being shipwrecked," Mae mused. "Since that means it's been lost."

He had pulled his communicator out of his pockets, only to find-
"M-my, uh... OH MY GOSH! My handy-dandy communicator is broken! This isn't handy or dandy!"
no subject
"Wow," Mae said blandly. "Sucks to be you."
no subject
no subject
"Probably not," Mae said. Because, really. "But . . . I mean, I guess I could try? What do they look like?"
no subject
no subject
". . . Sounds legit," said Mae, who did most things by 'cramming' and knew next to nothing about electronics. "I'm not really excited to go digging in the sand, though."

"I don't have any flippers. Are you going to send me flippers to get knocked off, too?"
no subject
no subject
"Sweet. I'll go look!"
She ran off, hopping from sand to rock to rock to sand to waves.

Mae eventually came back. With five electronic bits, seven manilla clams, two bottles of DIY recipes, a handful of sand dollars, two empty cans, a boot, and three very grumpy hermit crabs.
"I kind of forgot what I was doing."
no subject
"Hey! Did you find my communicator parts?"
no subject
"Oh! Maybe. I found some junk." Mae pulled out the electronic bits. And the cans. "People are gross."
no subject
no subject
"Wait, where's my reward?" Mae asked, holding them out of his reach.
no subject
Logic!
no subject
"Oh." Did Mae appear disappointed? Yes, yes she did. Did she do it in a standard Reaction? Maybe not! So maybe he wouldn't be able to tell. "Alright, I guess you can have them."
no subject
"Alright, the pieces are crammed back in here. Let's see if this thing can send a message," he said, and spoke as he typed. "Ahoy there, crew! It's me, your brudder from anudder rudder! So listen... It happened again. Can you swing by to pick me up? Sending my coordinates now. Gulliver, over and out! There! That should do it. You're the best!"
no subject
"No problem." Mae looked at the stuff she'd found. "Want a can, too?"
no subject
Gulliver. This was why you got shipwrecked every week.
no subject
"I feel like you should maybe be winking when you say that," Mae said. "Whelp. Here you go!"
