The Perk, Monday Morning

The bloody muzak was gone, and Lucifer had managed to coax a new Extreme Shake out of the Perk staff. He had no idea why they insisted on declaring the strawberry-forward concoction 'The Dante', beyond some terrible attempt at humor, but the amount of sugar in the drink quickly papered over what complaints he could raise about it.

Yes, Lucifer reflected, as he put large amounts of whipped cream in his mouth, this was much better than last week.

Time to keep this vibe going, clearly.

Seivarden gave a small nod, then sipped her tea.

"I think I've only talked to Eric once. He seems to hide a lot, doesn't he? Oh, and Tisarwat will be embarrassed if she finds out I asked" - that is, if Lucifer was blunt enough to mention it, - "so unless you want her to be" - she assumed Lucifer didn't care enough - "it might be best not to mention it. I'll just introduce her." As she would with any Radchaai.

"Right," Lucifer said, eyeing her. "Are you mother henning?"

"She's Radchaai and very young. It's only proper. Besides, she's stuck here too, and I actually enjoy talking to someone who understand, well, what I assume you'd call cultural differences."

She looked at Lucifer.

"Is that what you call mother henning? I'm not going to expect you two to be friends, just for her to be able to socialise more. And possibly get drunk."

"You're worrying about her feelings more than you worry about most people's feelings," Lucifer pointed out, "It's amusing. But fine. I won't make her sink through the floor with embarrassment." Beat. "About that, at least."

Actually Seivarden worried more about Tisarwat's opinion of her, considering her situation here, but there was no need to go into that.

"That's fine," she smirked. "I won't mind."

She reached out to nudge his fingers.

"And for the record, I do worry about people's feelings. I'm not cruel."

"I never said you were," Lucifer said, shoving a spoon into his drink. There was this stray strawberry at the bottom he wanted to get to.

"No, I suppose not."

This was heading into something potentially awkward or uncomfortable, so Seivarden said:

"I've changed my mind, I do want to know what's in that drink."

"So far, I believe it's ice cream, strawberries, some kind of strawberry syrup, rainbow sprinkles, some banana, and..."

He pushed his spoon up. "...Doughnut holes."

"Sometimes, although very rarely, your taste is questionable."

Seivarden sipped her tea.

Lucifer rolled his eyes. "It's delicious," he said, shoving the doughnut into his mouth. "You should try it."

"You know I won't."

She grinned.

"Yes, because sometimes, although very rarely, you hate joy."

"Because sometimes, although very rarely, we don't agree on what's enjoyable," Seivarden said.

"I want to do something enjoyable this week."

"Well, no one's stopping you," Lucifer teased, snagging another spoonful of whipped cream off the top.

Normally he would've just used his fingers, but, well, Seivarden. Though it might be a fun way to get himself dragged off-- anyway.

"No, no one is stopping me," Seivarden agreed, taking another sip of tea.

"Any ideas jump to mind?" Lucifer asked.

"A few," Seivarden said. "It depends a bit on the company though."

"Do tell me more," Lucifer said, amusement obvious in his expression.

"Do you remember that club in Baltimore you took me to? I haven't been there in a while."

Not since they handwavily went there together.

"Is that a request to go back?" Lucifer said, grinning.

"Not a request, a suggestion," Seivarden said, smiling over the rim of her cup. "In case you're interested."

"I could be convinced," Lucifer said, and took a cheeky sip of his drink.

"And what would it take to convince you?" Seivarden asked with an amused snort.

"I do respond well to bribery," Lucifer mused.

"I have really good weed," Seivarden said. "And I have some ideas for later in the evening. That would have to be a surprise though."
