Mauvaise Chance Apartments, Thursday Afternoon
Running an apartment building was both more and less work than Danny had expected. It mostly seemed to take care of itself, but then weird things would just pop up on him.
Like the washing machine thing a few weeks back. Or the rotting turnips he found in what was apparently some kind of rec roomholo suite for the building.
So, half the day was being spent on that particular crisis.
[open! Come get a place to live!]

Jesse stepped inside, and... paused.
"I thought you were a cop."

Should've probably kept that on inside voice.

"Well, I'm looking for an apartment," she said, with a slight twitch of a smile. "So... hi."

"Yeah, we're getting you an apartment today." Because Danny was alliwed sad living places, but no one else.

"Thanks," she said, her mouth twitching into a small smile. "I appreciate it."
no subject
He just did it in a surly motherhen fashion.

See? Barry not paying attention to anything but his tablet where he was monitoring his experiments.
"Yeah. I need an apartment," he called out to... well maybe someone would just respond to him and then he'd pay attention.

"I can walk, talk and split atoms at the same time," Barry replied putting the tablet to at least make eye contact with the apparently snarky landlord.
"Anyway, I don't need anything special. Just a place to get away from my warehouse if it gets irradiated or whatever. What do you got?"
no subject
Danny stared at him for a good long while at that. "Wow, you've got some people skills, doncha."
no subject
That's his charm, Danny!
"Yeah, I'm not a fucking people person," Barry admitted. "Sorry. I'm Barry Ween. New resident, School alumni, Technically I live in one of the warehouses but having an actual apartment for spare clothes and shit might be a good backup plan."
no subject
He was looking out for you, Barry!

"We have a mayor?" Barry asked who apparently hasn't been paying attention to the radio. "Who the fuck would want that job?"
Clearly a sucker that's who.
"Anyway, I'm fine with wherever. Even if it is the third floor. I'll keep my work at the warehouse so nothing blows up here or whatever."
Just in case: you might want to double the cleaning deposit, Danny.

"If you blow up anything on premises, I will arrest you," Danny sighed. "C'mon. Fourth floor has two open places."
no subject
"Wait you're a fucking cop too?" Barry asked. "Well, shit. Just so you know all experiments I'm doing are 100% legal."
Sure. Probably. Let's go with that, shall we?
"Fourth floor is fine. I'm not that picky as long as they both have good wifi signals."

He gestured to the elevator for Barry to come along like a good boy.

"What does a cop even do on this island when there isn't weird shit happening? Barry asked as he followed Danny into the elevator.
And then he wrinkled his nose. "Do I smell turnips?"
no subject
"Apparently run an apartment building," Danny replied dryly.
