Astrid really wanted to just be back in her room that day, continuing the work on her newest wall mural, but she figured it wouldn't be a great look of her to pick up a job, work one shift, and then already starting skipping. And it wasn't like the mural wouldn't be there for her when she finished for the day.
Well. The mural would probably still be there for her when she got out; you couldn't really guarantee anything like that around here, though.
But at least she could make little postcard sketches of the scenes and details when she was in between customers and updating signs, indulging in a Squishy as she did so, because it seemed to annoy Apu somehow that she would actually be so bold as to take advantage of one of the benefits afforded to her by working here, while adding at least one Disapproving Apu postcard to the box.
