Danny was blissfully unaware of the level of gross happening with the ridiculous class today. He'd find out eventually, but for now he was safe from it.

Safe and dealing with the troopers who were less than thrilled with the new workout schedule Steve was putting them through.

"Look, you just gotta distract him with a case." Or explosives. But Danny didn't want to deal with that, so he wasn't saying it.

"Oh. Jesus," Danny said, jerking away from the stench. "Did you roll in a dumpster?!"

"No, on a telephone pole," Steve said.

"That's not any better!" Danny shoved him away, then gave his hands a disgusted look. "Ugh."

Steve smirked. "I'll go home and take a shower."

With soap. For everything.

"You are a Neanderthal," Danny informed him. "Please promise to stay in there for more than three minutes. For all our sake."

"Maybe for today," Steve agreed. "This stuff is disgusting."

"I won't tell a soul," Danny promised. "I'll even graciously allow you to use my shampoo instead of soap."

It was sulfate free and crazy expensive.

"Since you don't believe in it otherwise."

"Thanks, Danno," Steve said with a grin. "I'll give it a try."

Slippery slope here, Steve.

Next it'll be demanding Danny touch his soft, soft skin after using artisanal soaps at a spa.

"Just. Bathe. Please."

That soap was amazing!

"It wouldn't bother you if you'd also participated," Steve said. "It's like garlic breath."

"Agree to disagree." Because Danny was very touchy.

"You're missing out on a lot of fun," said Steve, possibly the only person other than Mae who enjoyed these things.

"You want me to go, you gotta make it more worth my while than bad cheeseburgers," Danny replied easily.

"We're out of steak," Steve said.

"Not my fault!" It was all Steve's. Or maybe Duke's.

"You didn't go shopping."

You didn't either, Steve.

"I have to buy the bribe that's meant to make me come do your ridiculous activity? Really?"

That was pretty much peak Steve, yeah. Danny didn't even know why he was surprised.

Steve raised his eyebrows expectantly because wasn't that how it works, Danny?

It was not, you absolute jabroni!

"If I'm buying anything for this, it's with your money," Danny replied. Because it was still a work in progress to teach Steve normal human behavior.

And Steve accepted that because all friends knew how to use their other friends' credit cards, right?

"There's a decent butcher on the island," he said. "Seems weirdly specific for a place this small, but--"
