The Devil's Nest, Thursday Night

Eric had made Tiny move all of the plants blocking the view of the axe-throwing section, put up a sign on the door:

"FREE VODKA SHOTS FOR AXE-THROWERS"

And then poured himself a free vodka shot.

He'd make Tiny get anyone else one, too!

Jaye took a seat at the bar and asked, "So how many people have gone to the hospital so far?"

Eric grinned. "None so far, but it's still early."

"The shots should help," Jaye decided. "Speaking of, shots sound good."

"Free ones come after you throw an axe," Eric said, "but we have ones for money, too. What can Tiny get you? Vodka, tequila? Cement mixer, which is disgusting?"

"Just vodka. Cement mixer is for when you already can't feel your mouth," Jaye said.

[texted3times]

"And hate your life," Eric added, waving Tiny over with the shot.

[fates_jaye]

"Nah, that part usually comes the next day," she said.

Eric laughed. "I don't miss that at all."

[fates_jaye]

"Not a drinker?" Jaye asked. "Or you make actual good life decisions?"

Summer came into the Nest with a container in hand, so something was clearly afoot, but she got distracted by the sign.

"Hiiii, Eric!" she started, bright and sweet as could be, before adding, hopefully, "Any axe-throwers?"

Because, boy that would save her a whole lot of breath tonight!

"Why?" Eric asked, arching up an eyebrow.

"Because I can throw a pretty good axe," said Summer, who was okay at axe-throwing, she was way better with just slashing with one, but that wasn't the point.

"But you aren't 21," Eric said. "That's not my rule, that's the state."

[somethingwithturquoise]

"And yet..." said Summer, "there happens to be another bar on the island which seems exempt from that rule. Same with the grocery store. Isn't that interesting? Besides, if they're free, then I'm not even purchasing alcohol here, am I? Then again," her grin was just a bit too crooked to really be apologetic, "those rules have seemed a little blurry lately, haven't they?"

"I'm not in charge of those businesses," Eric said, "and I won't pay the fines if they get caught. I'm not in charge of Lucifer's choices and I don't want to sleep with you." He smiled with a few too many teeth. "So sorry."

That last part and that toothy grin there was just going to earn Eric a look, because, as far as she was aware, Lucifer didn't want to sleep with her either, so that seemed a bit unnecessary and, from her perspective, a little cruel.

But she didn't expect this to be easy.

"Ouch," she said, finding a smirk to just...paste right over that, "but I do like a challenge. And the sign just says axe-throwers, nothing age-specific, so that's kinda false advertising. But, either way, it's fine."

And now the container came into play.

"I brought my own."

Because of course she did, popping the lid off the container to display all the jello shots with in.

"Want one?" she asked, holding up the container to show them off oh-so-enticingly. "I made plenty."

"Heck yeah, booze and weapons!" It was two great things at once.

"First the weapons, then the booze!"

Because safety. Sort of.

[magnusrushesin]

"Okay, but if I get the ax in the bullseye, do I get extra booze?" Magnus asked, trying to double his profits here.

He lacked that charisma bonus, but he had some rustic hospitality to make up for it.

"Sure," Eric said, grinning. "But I have to witness it. You can't just say you hit a bullseye."

"I'm not gonna lie about it. Not anymore," he grumbled. "You're on!"

"Let's see what you've got, current Axe Champion," Eric said.

[magnusrushesin]

He won by default which saddened him greatly.

Magnus made sure to stretch out his arms real good as he went over to the range. Took aim and...

(He rolled a 22, so that ax just flew through the air like a goose into a model's nose. A real timely reference.)

"Yeah, boys!"

"Nicely done," Eric said. "I won't even serve you the salmon flavored vodka."
