"What on Earth is a chiptune night?"

Someone in this club had had the brilliant idea of putting a requests jar on the bar, and Lucifer was choosing not to speak to that person, whose name started with a T, on account of that person being an idiot.

"What, like playing video game music on the piano?" Lucifer tossed the note over his shoulder. "Do I look like someone who bothers with video games?"

He'd eventually make his way back to the piano, where he'd be pointedly playing piano bar classics, but for now, Lucifer was facepalming.

Octavia did not show up early tonight, and she really wasn't much for approaching the piano these days. So, who even knew when she'd talk to Lucifer, but first things first: Tiny was making her a Metropolitan.

Yes, he'd picked it, not her, because she still didn't know a damn about cocktails. But she was getting him to explain what he was doing, so, hey. Maybe sometime in the future she would know at least half a damn about some cocktails.

That was all right, because Lucifer had spotted her, and while he wasn't about to stop midway through this rendition of Englishman in New York, he would stop afterwards, get out from behind the piano, and approach the bar.

"Branching out, are we?"

"It's just a drink," Octavia drawled. "One I might learn to make."

She was absolutely going to prioritize learning about the ones she would like to drink, yeah. Wouldn't anyone?"

"So do you know what Tiny just put in it?" Lucifer asked, settling on a stool.

"Brandy," Octavia replied, lifting one finger. "Syrup." Another finger.

... Then a pause. A light frown as she tried to recall the rest, looking off to the side. Then she glanced towards Tiny, as if his face would remind her.

"Vermouth?" she asked, gaining a nod. Third finger. "And then... One other thing. Give me a second."

Octavia rolled her eyes at him.

And then remembered. "Oh, it was that -- something, that bitter thing. Bitters?"

Lucifer chuckled. "Very good," he said. "Next step's to figure out which bitters are best, of course."

Seivarden walked over to the piano between songs, raising her glass a little to Lucifer.

He was not going to get her to take her gloves off in public tonight.

She sipped her drink.

"It's a rather dull week, and that's not even a complaint."
