The Causeway, Saturday Morning
...at first Adora didn't even realise she was somewhere else. Not until she landed flat on what was very definitely not an alien forest floor, with a distinct lack of anyone else's laughter.
"Catra?" She looked around, taking in the causeway, the stone and brick houses. Oh, no no no, this was bad. "Catra?"
She stretched her hand out, willing the sword into existence. If this was a trap, she needed She-Ra, and if it wasn't, well, She-Ra was her best hope of undoing whatever had just happened.
So, yes, there was now a giant, glowing woman running up and down the causeway, occasionally stopping to poke at it with an equally long sword.
[Mostly for one, but open!]

And she might have been more defensive if not for the literal poking of the causeway.
"Hey, are you okay?"

She whirled around, trying to size the other girl up. She didn't seem threatening, but she was wearing armour, but at same time it didn't look like a uniform. She settled for keeping the sword up between them, not aggressively, just between them. "...yes?"
For the record, it should be noted that Adora was a terrible liar. Being She-Ra didn't help with that at all.

There were a lot of questions she could have asked second, and she went with the most obvious.
no subject
"What does it look like I'm doing?" She was stalling half in case that bit of her that sometimes just knew how to She-Ra kicked in, half in case Sabine would come with a better lie than she could.
no subject
Maybe. She wasn't sure with that thing.

Adora glared at the causeway. It managed to come off as both incredibly intimidating and utterly petulant. "But there has to be a portal there."
She was really starting to hate portals.
no subject
You know. As you do.
no subject
It wasn't quite accusatory. Well, not until a very unwelcome thought occurred to Adora. "Did you do something to Catra?"

"Oh." After final glance at the causeway like she was going to stab it again for good measure, Adora's shoulders slumped and she sank in on herself. She didn't think She-Ra wasn't going to help right now.
no subject
"What just happened there?" she asked.
no subject
As far as she was aware it was much less dramatic to watch than changing in the first place.

"Not really," Adora shrugged again. "She-ra is taller, has better hair."

"Oh, I'm Adora."
no subject
"So you're going to find this really, weird, but it looks like I'm actually your school-assigned big sibling," she said. "I'm Sabine."
no subject
"Oh, right, I've always wanted one of those."
She was about three seconds from bolting for the causeway and seeing if that would work.
no subject
no subject
Nope, she was just bolting.
no subject
And Sabine could call, "That's probably not going to help anything."
no subject
"What the?"
no subject
no subject
Adora would in fact punch the island if she had to.

She didn't exactly sound enthusiastic about that.

"There's food at picnics, right?" She was pretty sure there was supposed to be, at least according to Bow and Glimmer.

That didn't stop her looking over her shoulder as she followed Sabine though.
