All the basic essentials for (hopefully) what anyone should need for not only a new school year, but also the whole completely new living arrangement dealio had been moved front and center toward the entrance of the store that weekend; Apu really went all on the product pyramids this weekend, even with the new Squishy machine cleaning details Summer had foisted on him for every Sunday night.

Sure, she figured most of the panic shopping once people got here and got their footing had already been done over the weekend, but now came the time when brains were a little less breaky (until the full swing of classes got going, anyway), more reasonable purchases could be made, and they could get a sweet, sweet discount with it, too. And as she did her rounds, she was making sure to take note of anything in particular that had been moving a bit faster than usual over the weekend, and couldn't really figure out if a significant drop in the stock of bedsheets and blankets was normal or worrisome...

Always kind of a thin line around here, really.

Also, she was trying to figure out if there was a good way to prevent the inevitable addition that she just knew Shunsui was going to make to her sign on Wednesday. While simultaniously also trying not to think too much about tomorrow. So there was a lot going on in there today.

After a very rude introduction to radio, Eleanor hit T&C for some very much needed school supplies.

Specifically, her roommate had never had really bad tequila before. This needed to be rectified.

"Heeeeey-aaaaaay, Summer," Eleanor said as she approached the counter with her bottles. "What's the good word?"

And honestly, Summer wasn't sure if she should be impressed or concerned, but even she was leaning a little more toward the latter in that particular moment.

"Getting an early start, huh?"

Or late, maybe, depending on how you looked at it.

"Ooooh, this is not all for me," Eleanor replied. "I have a roommate who apparently is not familiar with American booze and it's my job to educate him. Ooooo. I should totally teach a class on this."

No you should not, Eleanor.

"The only thing he seems to be into is Lotus wine so I'm trying to broaden his horizons. And there's nothing better for that than tequila."

While Summer looked maybe a little doubtful about that last part, she also felt like she couldn't really make any arguments against it, either.

"Lotus wine?" she asked. "So...obviously, you're taking more of a 'throw them into the pool, sink or swim' approach in this."

Or, she thought, as her stomach sort of gurgled in a reminder of a not-too-long-ago ill-advised but still pretty awesome night of consuming at least half a bottle of tequila all on her own in one night as a starter, a good way to make sure her roommate never wanted to touch tequila ever again.

“He looks pretty tough. I’m sure he can handle it,” Eleanor said cheerfully. “The first thing he said to me was about booze-“

Actually, Eleanor brought it up.

“-so if he’s a lightweight it’s totally on him. I was also thinking of bringing him by Caritas on Wednesday so he can have one of your Jell-O shots.”

"You know I always appreciate the extra business you bring in, Eleanor," Summer said with a small smile, a proud, approving nod. "Maybe I'll have to try and whip up something special for the occasion." Because she always, always enjoyed doing that, too. "And then maybe show him a world beyond tequila from there...

"Seems you two get along then, at least," she added, "which is probably pretty good if you're living together."

"Well if we don't get along I can always sleep in the ball pit on the sixth floor," Eleanor said with a shrug. "I don't always get what he's talking about because there's like major cultural stuff he's into like dual cultivation. Which apparently isn't about carrots. Oh! He's really into Lotus wine. Could you make a Jello shot of that? Maybe that will give him a taste of home."

Yeah, Summer definitely wouldn't have even thought of carrots...

...and she wasn't even sure she knew Lotus wine was even a thing, but she also wouldn't be surprised to find out that they actually already had some in stock, and she loved a good challenge, anyway, and, well, she supposed she was going to have to find out more about Lotus wine, wasn't she?

"I will definitely make a Lotus wine jello shot," Summer vowed, which meant now she pretty much had to, even if it killed her, though she really kind of hoped it didn't. "Anything to help. It can be rough enough as is it winding up here for some people."

Not to mention people having to experience what it was like living with Eleanor, which Summer could only guess at, but was confident would be An Experience.

The "Eleanor" experience would no doubt be one of those county fairs where the roller coaster has seen better days and the carnie running it is missing a few fingers and doesn't care if the restraint bar works.

"You are one classy girl, you know that?" Eleanor said thankfully. "Hopefully me taking your class this year won't wreck our beautiful relationship."

"So that's not a typo on my class roster," Summer noted with pleased grin. "I think you'll be fine, but, obviously, I can make no guarantees. Only time will truly tell."

There was at least one field trip she was considering that might leave a few scars, but she was pretty sure Eleanor, at least, could get through it unscathed.

"Well, if I can't make it through a course about shopping then clearly I'm not doing things right," Eleanor said as she grinned back. "Plus the title of the course looks great when submitting shirt to college."
