Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

Rey had gotten the drones from Barry last week, but she'd also felt like she'd been kicked in the head by a bantha last week so she hadn't really gotten to try them out much.

(Last week had been bad.)

So that was today's practice as she waited today. She had them in the medium setting, deflecting tennis balls with the Force, and actually being pretty into it.

Anakin came in after his class, smiling. "Hello, Rey. New toys?"

"Barry felt that drones were better than using woodchucks for practice," she explained.

[sith_happened]

Anakin laughed. "So you outsourced them." He glanced around. "Are they sulking?"

[thatwaslucky]

"No, because I've assured them I'll still use them," she said, sending another tennis ball flying. "I just started paying them for it, I can't cut them off now."

"How did you start paying them?" Anakin asked, smiling. "Do they take rum, too?"

"Food," Rey corrected. "They don't seem to be hurting for it, but they like treats enough. Just like how I pay my gremlin assistant at work in shiny things."

She believed wholeheartedly in fair pay.

"They do love shiny things," Anakin admitted. "They seem to think I'm a shiny thing."

"Are you sure you're not?" Rey teased, using the remote to shut the drones down for now.

[sith_happened]

"Well, it's not my fault the island glitter gets into everything," he teased back.

[thatwaslucky]

"This is true," she allowed. "How are you this week?"

Anakin grinned. "My best friend visited, so that was a very good day."

[thatwaslucky]

"I can understand why." Seriously, she could. "Was this the paintball thing?"

Anakin nodded. "We'd spent...probably too much time...coming up with the courses for the students."

[thatwaslucky]

"I'm sorry I missed it," she smiled. "I wasn't sure what happened until someone hit my window with paint, and I think they just did that for fun at the end."

It might've even been Aeryn.

Anakin smiled a little sheepishly. "We didn't plan for it to end up in town, but given the students we have, we weren't exactly shocked, either. And those who live here are more than capable of dealing with some paint."

"One would hope," she said. "Last year around this time we got clown blood."

She did so much laundry. Just... so much.

Anakin made a face. "I do not miss them."

[thatwaslucky]

"Not at all. Which means we're probably clear of that this year, right?" she said, not at all hopefully.

[sith_happened]

"Probably, but if they show up now, I'm blaming you," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"I refuse the blame," she said immediately, shaking her head.

[sith_happened]

"That's not how this works," Anakin told her.

[thatwaslucky]

"Why not?" she asked.

[sith_happened]

"Because I say so?" Anakin tried.

[thatwaslucky]

Rey shook her head.

"It'll be fine, I'm sure of it."

[sith_happened]

"If I say 'trust your feelings' right now, I'll be that obnoxious Jedi Master who deserves to be kicked," Anakin decided.
