By now, Tino thought he was prepared for whatever it was that Summer would bring in that evening now that she'd taken to doing at least one standard jello shot and one...'experimental' one, but he really should have known better.

"You're a monster, you know that?"

Summer beamed as if he'd just given her the highest praise. "Don't blame me!" she sang brightly. "Blame the internet! But you can help yourself to any if you want, Tino, and you won't even have to sing."

Yeah, he was going to pass on that one.

Sing for your jello! Or just sing because, seriously, there's a stage there that does not get used nearly enough, if you asked Summer.

Grab a drink, chat it up with Summer, or mod Tino to your heart's content!

Because the lounge is also there, for all your lounging needs as far away from anything having to do with eggs and alcohol combined as can be within the walls of the bar itself....even if absolutely no eggs were harmed in the creation of those shots!

I've started eyeing the agar agar at work lately, and am mildly disconcerted by those implications.

Sometime during the evening Summer got a text:

I'm in LA, in case you were getting worried. Sorry for missing the shots.

Seivarden expected Summer to pick up the irony.

When Barry showed up in Caritas he was carrying what appeared to be a large plastic box that was just a tad unwieldy and a backpack stuffed full of various items. He then eyed the special board warily.

“Deviled egg? Who the fuck is going to drink that?”

After totally singing a song, Eleanor was immediately at the bar slapping her hands down in excitement.

“Deviled egg shot please!”

Yeah. Maybe a BIT.

But she wasn't about to let being on a completely different coast stop her from exposing Seivarden to this week's monstrosities, meaning a picture was definitely being sent her way.

A picture would do nothing for the mind-fuck that was a jello shot that looked like eggs but tasted sweet like cake, but she'd get what she could.

Just LOOK at what you're missing right now, Seivarden. JUST LOOK AT IT

The sheer amount of wary looks given to the specials board during any given evening was definitely becoming a mark of pride for Summer, as she met that question with a pleased little grin before sparing at least a mildly curious glance toward the box.

"Eleanor, probably," she answered, because she knew her audience, and there was a sheen in her eyes that bordered on an almost malicious glee. "Wanna know the real fucked up part, too? There's not even any egg in it. It kinda tastes like cake."

"And well earned," said Summer, the irony of which was still yet to be truly determined, and she set one of the deviled egg shots down in front of Eleanor. "What else for you tonight, Eleanor?"

"So you're just fucking with everyone?" He said, looking amused. "Yeah. Okay. I can get behind that."

He placed the square object on the table and turned it around so that the control panel was facing Summer.

"It might be hard to get someone to drink that with the description though."

"Ooo. Egg shaped even!" she said in awe and quickly downed it.

And made a face.

"Okay. Not what I was expecting," she admitted. "That tasted nothing like egg."

She sighed. "Okay. Let me try the fireball one."

"It not about who or how many people I can get to drink it, Barry," Summer informed him loftily, "it's about the art of it all."

And those things were fucking masterpieces, dammit.

But now the box was demanding far more of her attention that just curious, questioning glances.

"What is that thing?"

"I swear to god," said Summer, who tried not to laugh at that reaction, and...mostly managed, "you're the only person I can think of who would actually be disappointed by that, but don't worry. It's a work in progress. I've got some great ideas involving black salt..."

She set the fireball one down.

"This one is much more As Advertised, though, I promise."

"Well when I wasn't pulling my hair out over the weekend I was working on this," Barry said, watching for Summer's reaction. "The other week you were talking about how much time it takes to put together all your jello shots. So based on the machine I made for our date the other week, I decided to make some additional changes so you can use it for mass production. It's a jello shot machine."

He pointed to a couple of compartments on top that were labeled for easy use. "Alcohol goes there, gelatin mixture there, additives go there. Then press the button and five minutes later you have ten shots ready to go."

"Gimme."

She took the fireball shot and tossed it back and sighed. "Yep. That burns. But a good one," she said with a happy sigh. "This is great. I can drink but just smell like cinnamon hots."

It looks disgusting.

She sent a picture of a glass of whisky back.

Summer tried to eye the machine with a certain amount of skepticism, but by now she knew better, and for all her talk of the art of it all, it didn't take much to see some major benefits in essentially jello shots on demand, either. Like, she already had a list of ideas in her head on how to put this to its best advantage.

"Really?" she asked, despite completely believing it, despite already thinking of what they might have here at the bar currently to put it to the test, despite the pleased, eager smile already lighting up her face, like she just needed that tiny little bit of extra confirmation before she could let herself be all in on it.

Summer just shook her head a little a sort of proud admiration.

"I'm trying to lean into the fall flavors a bit more now," she explained, "but I'm glad you approve. Probably lots more use out of the fireball in the future."

And, assuming she'd want another one, another one appeared.

"How was your week, Eleanor?"

That looks...decent.

It was whiskey, it was hard to fuck up whiskey, but Summer had a feeling hers were at least poured a little heavier.

is there at least a super cute and charismatic bartender there to go with your Wednesday whiskey as well?

"Yes. Really," Barry said with a small shrug trying to be modest but actually pretty fucking proud he made something for her. He then tried to laugh it off. "I mean it just gives you more time for the two hundred other jobs you have here on the island. I didn't think you'd mind that."

"Well I've spent most of it in my room watching Fail Army on you tube," Eleanor said with a shrug. "And I woke on Monday with a ton of tiny bruises and a bunch of acorns in my bed. I think I pissed off the squirrels for missing my radio session on Monday. That Leroy is a pissy one, isn't he?"

Rey of course checked the specials, and the degree to which shots were becoming food was beginning to worry her. She didn't even know what a deviled egg was.

"How is the karaoke working out?" she asked, and let it be known now: she wasn't doing it.

There was a cute bartender whom Seivarden had been flirting with two evenings in a row now, but she wasn't going to mention that.
