Community Center Class: Modern Earth Entertainment - Wednesday, 09/09.

Everyone, at least presumably, should be much cleaner and less splattered with paint this week, but, if that weren't the case, well, you do you, what you do in your free time was none of Amaya's business! But getting everything set up for another movie class was, and so that's exactly what she was going to do.

"Alright," she said, once everyone seemed to get their arriving and mingling out of their system, "I suppose we should get started on tonight's feature. Now, I can't actually remember if I've seen this one before or not," she'd squeezed an awful lot of movies into the few shorts years she'd been here, "but it's considered a classic and a must-watch on most lists on that sort of thing I've perused, so I figured, why not? It's significantly lacking in explosions, for my tastes, but that tends to be the case with these older ones. Anyway! Hope you enjoy!"

And, with that, she waited for everyone to get settled in before pushing play.

Come on in, socialize with your fellow film viewers, and grab a bit of snacks and drinks (pretty standard but moddable fare tonight!), because this part is pretty much half the reason for the class in the first place!

Lucille was here because Tisarwat had suggested it. She picked up a cup of tea and a few biscuits, and looked around to see if she had arrived.

"Thanks for coming, Lucille." After Tisarwat had gotten her own tea, she headed over, especially to see if she really needed to get on that new pair of gloves for her soon. "I've been looking for new ways to be more social around here, and I think this might be a good way to do just that, don't you think?"

Tisarwat definitely needed to sort out the glove issue.

It was something that was now going to be her main focus for her day tomorrow. As much as she could enjoy the current gaffe now, it was going to be difficult to enjoy it in good conscious much longer.

"We have entertainments back home that are similar to some of the movies here," Tisarwat said, "but I haven't had much of a chance to really watch much of what they make here, either, so we'll sort of be discovering these together. And then maybe I'll have to find a good Radchaai entertainment to share with you sometime. We actually can get them here..."

Which was strange and frustrating that Radchaai things had no problem getting to Fandom, but it was impossible for them to get out, apparently, but she wasn't going to think about that right now.

Well, it was definitely good to see some newer faces come in this week! So Amaya couldn't help greeting Lucille with a pleased grin.

"Lucille! Decided to come explore the wide world of film this week?"

"I thought I should," Lucille said. "Tisarwat suggested it and I was reminded I know so little about it."

She smiled, taking a sip of tea. "I have meant to stop by abd tell you I am very pleased with the shelf."

And thus, the real reason why Amaya was so relieved to see some new faces through the door that evening was revealed, as now Shunsui had somewhere else to send some of his attention.

Not all of it, of course, you weren't getting off that easily, Movie Class-chan, but Shunsui could hardly ignore Lucille's presence there, too.

"Ah, Lucille-chan ♥," he greeted her brightly and joined the complete character mob. "What a lovely surprise ♥! It's been a while, my lovely swan ♥!"

"It has," Lucille said, smiling at Shunsui. "How have you been? So do you take an interest in movies, or are you mostly here to socialise?"

She guessed the latter.

Obviously, Tisarwat wanted to support Amaya and her entertainments class, as well as satiate a little curiousity about Earth entertainments in general, plus she wanted to spend more time with Lucille in general, so she was feeling pretty proud of her ability to multitask and kill a few birds with one stone by suggesting they come check it out together. She just hoped the movie they'd be watching would be a little more...restrained than the sorts of movies she'd come to understand Amaya was a fan of...

It was a risk she was willing to take; if anything, it would provide good conversation material afterwards.

No one had asked him to provide movie sake, of course, but that didn't mean he wasn't still here to provide it.

Amaya felt that same sort of relief to see Liam there again this week as she had last week, even if this week had already picked up a little more extra traction, too.

I didn't start this class with the intention of the films being vaguely thematic in certain ways with the assemblies, but that's definitely what's going to wind up happening.
