Astrrid had not entirely been aware that there had been a glitter problem with the Squishy machine that week, so when she came in to work after her classes, getting set up as usual with her sketchbook and her box of postcards behind the counter, she was maybe a little confused and pretty wary of why Apu seemed to grateful and celebratory every time he or someone else poured on out of the machine.

Then again, Astrid had learned well by now to just not really question most of what made that man tick. But it definitely was inspiring a new piece that involved him on his knees and crying tears of joy in benediction to the Squishy machine, like it were some sort of benevolent god granting him some mysterious grace.

This was why Astrid probably needed to get out more.
