Turtle & Canary; Wednesday [09/16].
Shunsui wasn't quite sure if this was a store thing or a Summer-chan messing up on her job thing, but there appeared to be an abundance of guacamole in the store that day and a distinct lack of chips, which Apu-san seemed to think was done on purpose, because the bread stock was fine, so perhaps her intention was something along the lines of avacado toast, what with that being so popular with the Millenials these days and everything, which only prompted Shunsui to ask what a Millenial was (being lived through a few millenia, anyway), and it was something he almost instantly regretted asking.
Eventually, after realizing that Apu-san clearly had no idea of the meaning of the words he was attempting to use were, he waved the conversation away, told him to go put up a display, and then went to get back to napping at the counter between customers.
But, hey, if anyone needed guacamole, they were having a great sale on it.

She headed further into the store for some groceries before any move towards the counter, though.

While Shunsui just took her heading into the aisles as a good opportunity to squeeze a little more pretending not to sleep in before she finished finding what she was looking for, ignoring the small part of his brain that wondered if he should see if she needed help.
She knew her way around and hadn't bothered with so much as a greeting. That felt pretty suggestive of preferring some space, and he could hardly mind simply staying put.

Some fresh fruit. Oreos. A bottle of sandalwood shower gel, and a packet of hair ties. (Conspicuous, kind of, when you took into account she never seemed to wear her hair anything but down, these days.)
"Ha yun, Shunsui," she rasped. "I'm taking these."
no subject
"We typically expect people to purchase them first," said Shunsui, who really couldn't help himself with a small grin on that one, "but I suppose we can make an exception for you, Octavia-chan ♥."
First things first, though, as he held out a cup.
"Sake ♥?"
no subject
Then, the shrug. "Sure."
no subject
It was his shop, he could do that.
"Are you having a good day, Octavia-chan ♥?"
no subject
She was, however, going to give his question a vague scoff - and then just move past it altogether. She shook her head and glance back at the store at large. "What's with all the guacamole?"

And then shrugged. "I don't tend to turn down food," she said. "Even if Duke might end up complaining we could have made our own."
Or he could have, since Octavia was still at the 'chopping things and letting him do everything else' stage of cooking.

"Then you can just tell Duke-san," Shunsui offered with his crooked grin, "that this just frees up that much more time for...other things, neh ♥?"

As if there could be any other response to that.

(Yes, she knew what he was saying. Sometimes she preferred being a pain.)

"Hopefully," he offered breezily, "a very good time ♥."

"It does seem a shame," he observed, "to have such a lovely vessel tethered to one place for too long ♥."
A continuation of the metaphor? A new one entirely? A rare dip into the literal?
Maybe.

If an eye roll could seem muted, hers did.
"Never knew you'd be so invested in sailing."
no subject
"I am a man of a great many interests and passions, Octavia-chan ♥," he said, "albeit some more than others."
no subject
"When have you been sailing last, anyway?" she asked. "I could..." Small shrug. "Take you around the island, sometime."
She had no idea whether that was something he'd even like. But she needed the practice.
no subject
And whether or not sailing was something he'd even like didn't even factor into it.

"Either way," he said, "I'm looking forward to it, Octavia-chan ♥."
no subject
"Maybe next week," Octavia said, not knowing any plans she made beyond the next two days were about to probably be shaken up. "I guess we'll see."
no subject
"I guess we will ♥," he agreed easily.
