Astrid was trying her best to ignore Apu's judging looks today, but, at one point, she just sort of broke and couldn't help herself.
"Will you please stop?" she asked witheringly. "You can't honestly tell me that there's actually going to be a glitter shortage on this island just because I bought a whole bunch of it."
But you didn't understand, Astrid. It wasn't so much about the fact that you bought it, merely that Apu had been here way too long to not be suspicious of anyone buying that much glitter in one fell swoop. And the fact that her employee discount meant not even pulling as much of a profit on it didn't help, and he was now convinced that she only came groveling for her job back so that she could exploit that discount for nefarious glittery deeds.
And here all she wanted was a sparkly wall....
