Dite's Decadent Delights, Wednesday

With the call from Alluka yesterday, there was no way Kathy was missing out on heading to the island to help tidy up. Poppy the giant metal chicken statue out front was getting polished and then bedecked. The outside of the building was getting power-washed (especially if she could convince Dante to come and help) and the landscape trimmed. And the inside was going to be so scrubbed down that even Barry could be convinced to eat off the furniture.

...Possibly.

"You missed a spot," Barry said pointing at an imaginary spot on the window. "Big as fucking day. You better clean that up along with your inventory if you expect to get parental approval by all the visitors this weekend."

"Oh, I left that spot there for the first mouthy employee to scrub," Kathy teased, turning over her shoulder to give him a grin. "Oh. Hello Mouthy Employee. Fancy meeting you here."

Ronin barked his hello.

Barry gave Ronin a friendly scratch behind the ears. "Well. Then I fucking quit," he joked. "Can't have a mouthy employee alienating the god damn customers, right?"

"Enh, my family isn't showing up here," Kathy said with a wink. "And if any students bring theirs into Dite's to show them around the island, pretty sure your mouth will be the least shocking thing on display."

“Good fucking point,” Barry laughed. “Shit, I still get intimidated walking in there.”

"Just imagine though, Barry," Kathy teased. "One day, you might even end up using your discount! I mean, probably for science--but still!"

And true to form, Barry's ears turned red and his voice cracked at Kathy's teasing. "Um. Sure. Fuck. Whatever," he mumbled. "How's Dante?"

Yes. Let's turn that conversation, shall we?

Was Kathy grinning? Yeah. Kathy was grinning. "Still very Dante about everything," she said. "I tried to convince him to come help out, but suddenly he had a very important demon thing he couldn't get out of."

"Are you sticking around for the weekend?" Barry asked. "Or is this just a quick visit?"

"I'll be back this weekend," Kathy said. "Visiting Alluka."

Which she could do any time, but this weekend was Official, as family.

"Roxie and Jeremy coming by?"

“Fuck yeah,” Barry said cheerfully. “They’ll be staying at the warehouse with me. Drop by and say hello if you can.”

"Sure!" Kathy said, giving him a grin. "I'll meander by the warehouse at some point. You know, take a seat, watch them harass you, offer the occasional suggestion..."

You'd missed her, Barry.
