Parents Weekend Meet & Greet, Friday Afternoon

It was a perfectly lovely, crisp, autumn afternoon in Fandom. The birds were chirping, the leaves were falling in a photogenic way, and the woodchucks and been herded well away from the park because chucking wood at visitors would be...not ideal.

The town was bright, cheerful, and clean thanks to the efforts of Wednesday's assembly, and the glitter was almost in manageable amounts (meaning it hadn't gotten into the moddable snacks yet, but it couldn't last forever)!

The glittery banner hung over the entrance to the park, drawing in all newcomers:

Someone had drawn a smileyface on Mazikeen's name tag.

It didn't match the extremely unimpressed expression on her face at all. She hovered near Chloe and Trixie, glaring at anyone who came near.

Whatever, Lucifer was gone, this was dumb and sentimental, but if Decker wanted to be Decker about it, Maze would at least see to it that Decker didn't Decker herself into a ditch.

As soon as they got to the Meet and Greet, Prompto danced over to the name tag table to try and beat Noctis to it, because he had to make an unofficial 'official' change to one of theirs.

Crossing out Noct's last name and scribbling in his own.

"Hey," said Noct, looking down at the name tag slapped on his chest with a frown, "I'm pretty sure you should be taking my name in this situation."

"No way, dude," Prompto grinned, slinging an arm over his shoulder, patting that chest a little more. "You're an Argentum this weekend. Welcome to the family."

At this point, really, was there any escaping such a fate?

After landing Darla in a secluded part of the island that was still close enough in case they needed to make a fast getaway, Bow, Glimmer, and Catra made their way over to the party, and the registration desk.

"This was not what I was imagining," Bow said, looking around. "Well, except maybe for the glitter." There had been a lot of glitter in the mysteriously appearing envelope.

When Katy made it to the registration table and saw that there was a second name tag that simply read GUS next to hers, she had to grin, kneeling down and patting it gently on the chest of the massive yellow pit bull mix.

"Looking pretty official there, big guy," she said fondly, giving the old boy a scratch behind the ears before straightening up, tossing her hair behind her shoulders, and looking around for her big brother.

Or to see if Nina had her boy band here again...

Oh, no, Jester's name tag was not decorated nearly enough for her liking, so she dug into her bright pink haversack right there at the registration table (occasionally pulling out ... way more things than it should hold) for her little paints set and set about adding little pink and purple hamster unicorns to about every square centimeter she possibly could.

Then she obscured her actual name as much as possible and wrote in "Fiona Fancypants" over it. If you looked closely enough, though, you could still make out the "Jester Lavorre" that had originally been written there.

She'd track down Yasha and Beau in a bit, but for now there were so many new people to prank!

... meet. She totally meant meet.

Also, by the time she finally skipped away from the registration table, the silver jewelry on her horns jangling lightly, there were definitely a few cartoon dicks drawn on it, and she hadn't been trying to hide those.

Kamilah signed in but curled up her lip at the idea of wearing a nametag. Surely everyone worth acknowledging would know who she was already.

Rhodey found his "LtCol Rhodes" name tag and put it on, glancing around curiously. Steve had never been all that forthcoming about the island he was living on.

Renee picked up her name tag, holding it between two fingers and considering it carefully.

Then she sighed, and affixed it on to her very expensive tailored shirt.

Honestly, worse things had happened to her wardrobe in the years since she'd left Earth. A little sticker residue was nothing.

Nanao frowned at the name tags, and then frowned over at Captain Ukitake, who seemed to be having some trouble with his sticking to his fingers.

"I thought you said this would be a surprise," she stated. "How could there be name tags for us if it's a surprise?"

And as the name tag fluttered stubbornly at the end of Jūshirō's long, slender fingers, he chuckled. "And here I would have thought we had name tags because you'd have insisted on them, Lieutenant Ise. Don't worry, our reitsu is very well shielded, he won't suspect a thing."

Nanao looked doubtful, but she pushed her glasses up and secured her name tag with a firm, somewhat ominous, "Good."

Shunsui had managed to evade her all too easily last time, but she wasn't going to let that happen again. Especially now that she'd brought...leverage.

Bob looked around Fandom and grinned, a big nametag on his chest that said, Bob, Julius's Brother on it. Because he was a capricious caring person.

Honestly, he was incredibly excited to be here. This island was a place where his powers generally didn't work. Everything was new! Everything was a surprise!

The pigeon on his shoulder cooed, and he reached up to scratch it. "Sorry, my love," he said. "The sticker would only ruffle your feathers anyway."

Evi was quite pleased to officially sign in as Duke's guest. Apparently he'd taught at this school? She wondered what job that was for.

When she got her name tag, she crossed off "Ryan" and put in "Crocker", and stuck it proudly to the lapel of her jacket.

Time to see what the old ball and chain had been up to, these last couple of years.

Janet was, of course, thrilled to be here. Less thrilled to put a nametag on her outfit, but she'd dealt with worse things than some ruined silk.

Also, it gave her a chance to sign her name stylishly.

Lan Sizhui landed, leaping from his sword to land near the Registration table. He was excited to see A'Yuan after so long, but not so excited that he didn't attach the sticker to his robes, but to a lanyard around his neck.

Coming here made sense. It had made sense when she got the invitation, and it had to make sense while she was here. Just... coming here to close the books on... everything. To find out what Lucifer's life had been like in the year he'd spent running away from her.

And then Dan had gotten a phone call and had cancelled on her about Trixie. Now they were both here, and Chloe could tell her daughter was looking at her like she wanted to say something.

But she was finding it really hard to do anything besides sit at this table over a full plate of food. And... and sit.

God, she was tired.

Diego was here under the guise of stopping any family altercations that may or may not happen. But, really, he was mostly here for the free food. Stopping a fight would only be a bonus.
