Streets/Rooftops of Fandom - Evening

Homework was all done and with nothing else to do, Miles had a choice. Sit in his room and sketch all night or maybe see what was going on outside the walls of school for once.

Putting on his new uniform He leaped, jumped, parkoured from the dorms to the rooftops and various buildings of Fandom. Could this be considered "patrolling" the town? Sure. However with a lack of crime his greatest "heroic" accomplishment of the night was carrying an old lady's groceries from the Kwik Stop to her home.

The rest of the evening was just spent hopping from building to building and enjoying the fall air. Sure, there weren't a lot of tall building to leap off of or places where he could use his webshooters to swing around town but after the week before just moving felt like a great things to Miles.

"Having fun?" Tony called up there while Patriot basically lost his goddamn mind at someone who could potentially be petting him. Because he didn't tire the dog out like Steve did.

"Oh! Hey Mr. Stark!" Miles said jumping down from the roof to greet him and Patriot. "Just felt the need to stretch my legs you know? How are you doing?"

Which was pretty adorable and felt very much like being back home. "I'm doing fine. You get much to do on the island?"

Because the last time he patrolled, there was a Sharknado. So.

"Well I helped a lady with her groceries," Miles admitted, as he kneeled to give Patriot some attention. "I think that's the biggest thing I did tonight other than give your dog some attention."

"Very important," Tony agreed solemnly. All while Patriot all but curled into a c shape out of sheer joy of being pet by someone new. "It's good practice here at least."

"Yeah, I don't think I'm up for patrolling in NYC yet on my own," he said giving Patriot some scritches behind both ears. "So I can at least get a work out here and take Ms. Pryde's class for the basics. Plus just hopping around a bit is kind of fun. No one's screamed at me to get off their roof yet."

"Well, if you're high up enough in Manhattan, you won't even hear them." Tony, no.

"True, but that's a big drop," Miles chuckled. "I've done that about twice now but I need to work myself up a bit I think."

"Safety net until you get there then," Tony agreed. "Maybe a parachute?"

There was a pause as he considered.

"Can you do that with the webbing?"

"No... I honestly hadn't thought of that," Miles admitted. "I run better than I swing honestly. I think my greatest accomplishment is swinging through Brooklyn without breaking my back and hanging a 2000 lbs mob boss between two buildings."

"Kingpin?" Not really someone he dealt with most of the time. Because Marvel. And how all his villains had to based on communism or something. C'mon now, Marvel.

"Yeeeeah, that'd be the guy," Miles admitted as he stood up. "Honestly I just got a lucky punch in with him. The hard part was hauling him up the side of the building."

He probably could have just turned Kingpin over to the police but where's the fun in that?

Well, if you were in a hurry...

"Sometimes it is a lucky punch," Tony admitted with a grin. "Or back-up arriving just in time."

"Well currently the only back up I have is either here or in other dimensions," Miles said thoughtfully. "So I guess I need to be a bit more self-reliant. Unless you happen to know the Tony Stark from my universe is as nice as you are."

Tony made a bit of a face at that. "Well, I unfortunately can't say for certain there."

"Yeah, I figured that might be a long shot," Miles admitted. "Besides it's not like a kid from Brooklyn is going to attract attention from a billionaire from the West coast."

"West coast?" Tony made such a face at that. "Again? Ugh."

Why couldn't other universes let him live in Manhattan?

"Not a fan of L.A.?" Miles asked with a chuckle. "Or are you more of a Yankees fan?"

[imafuturist]

"Steve--Captain Roger's home has a version of me also based on the west coast," he replied. Which was weird because there hadn't even been a West Coast Avengers yet! "I'm a New Yorker."

"See, that's a Tony Stark I can agree with," Miles said offering Tony a fist bump.

Because everyone knows that New York is better.

"Though I got to ask because this seems to weird everyone out. In your dimension is it PDNY or NYPD?"

Tony fist bumped him back with a little laugh. "NYPD," he replied slowly.

Were you from the upside down, Miles?

Miles' world was weirdly upside down in many ways.

"That's what it seems to be everywhere else," Miles said shaking his head ruefully. "Honestly NYPD just doesn't roll of the tongue for me. Plus you guys have this Coca-Cola stuff too when it should be Koca(with a K) Soda."

"Huh," Tony replied as he considered sharing this knowledge with Reed to make sense of it. "Do you still have dirty water hot dogs and too many hipsters in Brooklyn?"

[sparkinyou]

"Well yeah, of course we do," Miles replied with a laugh. "I don't care what dimension it is. If you don't have the dogs and the hipsters it isn't Brooklyn."

"Then the other things aren't that bad," he replied with a grin. "Constants of the universe, you know."

[sparkinyou]

"Except for the part of you being in any other place than New York, right?"

[imafuturist]

"Those are clearly outliers and should not be counted."

[sparkinyou]

"Absolutely. Can't trust those outliers, right?"

[imafuturist]

"Exactly!" Clearly Miles got it. "Just statistically speaking."
