When Astrid came in for her shift that day, she was almost immediately accosted by the cheese panda, who sternly foisted a pair of latex gloves at her and then pointed to the cheese cooler. Eyes a little wide with apprehension and knowledge over how the cheese panda could get, she looked over at Apu, desperate for an explanation and half-worried he wouldn't offer her one because she knew he wasn't exactly her biggest fan.
And sure enough, he was going to let Astrid fend for herself on this one, but, after an awful lot of aggressive gestures and unspoken threats, Astrid was able to suss out that it was apparently Moldy Cheese Day, the one day of the year dedicated to going through all your cheese to find and remove all the moldy pieces.
And Astrid desperately wanted to point out that if there was moldy cheese that needed to be removed and recut, then obviously the cheese panda, whose sole purpose of existing in this store was to deal with and monitor and sell the cheese, was really slacking on his job, but she possessed this thing called self-preservation, so she wasn't about to say a word, she was just going to dutifully search for moldy cheese in the cheese cooler in between bouts of excuses to flee back to the counter for extended periods of time.
