The Park, Saturday Morning
I always thought of myself as being pretty good for slipping under the radar... even in a place like this, where everyone has a special story of their own.
Jesse had woken up to a horn, and wings, and a blue pony body that shimmered in disorienting patterns of cyan that reminded her uncomfortably much of Polaris. It had taken her effort to get out of the apartment, which seemed too small, out into the park, which seemed too... open and public.
But I'm not getting away with hiding right now.
"Fuck," she said succinctly, as she bent over to peer at her reflection in the pond. "Just... fuck."

Do you even know how long it had taken her to get out of her apartment? How did doorknobs work when you were a pony?
"Who are you and why are you a prettier pony than me?" she greeted the blue pony she saw in the park, because this was her day, already.

Jesse lifted her head up and stared at the newcomer.
"I think the question why are either of us ponies is a little more relevant right now."
no subject
She had given up on 'why' sometime around candy corn rain.

Rolling with the punches was usually Jesse's specialty. The island turning her into some kind of super special pony, though? That made her uncomfortable.
"I'd give them to you if I could," she said. "They're really unhelpful in doorways."

And, of course, curious looks at any fillies that might be about, with a hoof to his hat to tip in greeting as he observed, "So at least I'm not the only one ♥."
Not that he'd expected he would be, around here, but it made for a good conversation starter, neigh ♥?

Yeah. Why not him, too?
"Good morning, Shunsui."

"And you're still pretty pink," she observed. "Are those butterfly wings?"

(Why would anyone cross a dragon with a pony?)
"Sounds about right," Liam said with a sigh as he trotted (trotted!!) up to her.
no subject
"I knew this had happened before," she said, "It's not quite the same having it happen to you."

But whatever magic had been responsible had decided Liam's fashion choices didn't overwrite alien DNA. So purple and pink it was.
"Jesse?" he guessed. The voice, plus what she'd actually said, was enough to put that together. "It's Liam," he added with a sigh, because yes, he was well aware that might be a bit difficult to pick out at the moment.
Oh god, he was so glad he wasn't glowing. That would've just been too much.
no subject
"Jesse," she confirmed. "Hi, Liam. I didn't recognize you with all the purple."

who was going to be extremely relieved to not be pony-shaped momentarilyhad decided that after spending most of the past few days asleep in his apartment (being maskless had been exhausting) it might be time to go outside. And the park was the usual outside destination of choice. He'd been expecting to maybe see a few people. He wasn't expecting colorful ponies.
"Oh," was all he managed to say at first.

Then she turned, and--
"You look like you have thumbs."
Smooth, Jesse.

"I do. I usually do. Is that...good?"

That voice sounded familiar, even if it was coming from a brightly colored pony with wings. "Liam?"
