Well Diego figured he was due for some island nonsense at some point but he woke up supremely pissed off that it was this of all things. To make matters worse he had to clip clop into work today because he was too stubborn to take a sick day.

He looked down at his desk, not even sure what he could even do that would count as work. "This is stupid."

Annie was not gleeful to see that Diego was a pony today, don't be silly, that would be mean. It was more like...somewhat-gleeful relief that the island hadn't skipped him on this one. She could deal with him not turning into a cat if this was now on the table.

"You look different," she greeted him, wandering into the trooper station after her visit to the park and making her way over to his desk.

"So do you," Diego said. "I'm just happy to know it's not only me that's gone equine."

"It's definitely not just you. It's not even just us," Annie assured him, turning in a circle so she could sit, because that was a thing she was doing now she was a pony, apparently. "Though some people have wings and unicorn horns, which is just a whole second level of unfair."

Beyond, you know, being a pony in the first place.

"Can they use the wings to fly or is it just for show?" Because that was the deciding factor in if he was going to be jealous or not.

"They mostly seem to be just decorative," she replied. "At least the ones I've seen."

She was still a little jealous.

"Eight year-old me would be loving this, right now."

"Eight year old me would probably hate this as much as grown ass me does," Diego said. "I miss opposable thumbs."

He couldn't throw anything! That was like half of who he was!

"Use your teeth?" she suggested, helpfully, and maybe that was the solution to the mystery of how she'd even gotten out the door today? "These hooves are, like, the worst." Like worse than real hooves, probably.

Was Steve, somehow, a jacked unicorn with a chiseled jawline and a Navy logo on his ass now?

Yes, yes he was.

"This isn't my cooking's fault," he declared immediately.

"Well unless you fed the whole town last night I think you're nixed as a suspect." Diego was a pretty lackluster pony aside from the stripes. Didn't even have anything stamped on his butt.

"Are we investigating this or just hoping it blows over by Monday?" Steve asked. "My typing's gonna be terrible right now."

"I think we're hoping it blows over," he said. "It's not like we can charge the island with anything."

"It's not exactly identity theft, is it?" Steve asked, laughing.

[knife_bender]

"Clearly there needs to be human-to-horse laws," Diego said. "Much like there also has to be raccoon laws on this island. And possibly squirrel laws."

"The squirrels clearly don't think human stalking laws apply to them," Steve said.

And oh look, there was a pony-dragon trotting in to the Station.

"Diego?" he guessed, reasonably certain of the answer. Helped that it was the day he was supposed to be here, because he didn't have his usual all-black color scheme going on today.

Nor did Liam, actually, which had thrown a few people so far.

"Yup," said the surliest pony. "You look way cooler than me."

"Not a lot of guys would call someone with pastel-pink... hair? 'Cool', but thank you?" Liam said, flicking his tail.

(His tail. He had a tail. This was so weird.)

"Liam?" He was going by the voice, here. "You at least have wings."

"They're functional and everything," Liam shared. "But I have no idea what I'm supposed to be."

"I mean, if you can fly does it matter what you're supposed to be?" He was just a boring ol' pony.

"You got wings?!" Steve said, pouting.

[firstofitskind]

"Sure did," Liam said, sounding maybe a little bit smug. "You didn't see me when you were out for a swim earlier?"

Out trying to make swimming happen, to be more precise. Steve might look all graceful and majestic now...

Steve was decidedly sulky now. "I was too busy to look up."

What with all of the flailing he'd been doing. Ponies cannot butterfly.

You know, Liam had noticed that? But he wasn't going to bring it up.

"If it makes you feel better, Verity laughed so hard when she saw me this morning."
