You know what was the greatest? Not being a pony. Or, more specifically, having hands. The rest of it had actually not been that bad.

(Take it from Annie - she'd been a bat two weeks ago. At least her pony self understood words.)

In any case, Annie was back behind the bar - with hands and hair that was, frankly, not quite as shiny as her pony mane had been but she wasn't resentful about it, don't worry - and back to playing with the blender again.

Admittedly, she had never really had banana liqueur before, so maybe it wasn't her fault that she was overdoing it on the rum to compensate for how banana-y her batch of Bahama mamas was turning out to be? Because at first they had seemed grossly bananaish and now they seemed...like, maybe flammably alcoholic?

Never mind that it was also the middle of November. She'd been a pony this weekend. Tropical drinks were pretty low on the weirdness scale, today.

Jessica wandered into the bar and eyed that blender a bit warily before placing her order.

"Bourbon."

Which is as close as Jessica gets to cordially saying "Hi."

"Hi, Jessica." And look how, without comment or insistence that she try the blender drink (no one should try the blender drink), Annie set the bourbon before her. "So, were you a horse this weekend?"

You know, that totally normal greeting.

"That's going to be a topic of conversation for everyone today, right?" Jessica said with a sigh. "Yeah. Somehow I woke up as a horse and was wearing a leather jacket, my scarf, and had a magnifying glass tattooed on my butt. And I couldn't open bottles so... that was a miserable weekend. You?"

"Oh yeah, and I'm jealous you got to have clothes," Annie noted with a frown. "The butt tattoo thing was super weird. Mine was stars." Specifically the three stars that went across the bust of Starlight's uniform. "I mean, you sound like a remarkably recognizable horse."

Jessica finished her drink and pushed her glass over for a refill. "Yeah. Well. I hid in my hotel room all weekend and re-evaluated my life choices."

Specifically moving to the island and becoming a WTF a horse?

"So no one recognized me."

"Is that the first weird thing that's happened to you here?" Annie asked, refilling her glass. "I mean, other than - " She gestured to her own face. "Crazy shit sometimes kind of goes down like that over the weekends, here, but it seems to always wear off."

"Well I met someone who knew me from another dimension but not mine. And she seems to have a similar backstory but... yeah. Being a horse trumps that," Jessica admitted. "How about you? First time for you as well?"

"Well, I turned into a bat on Halloween," Annie shared. "And I lost my powers the weekend before that. Turning into a horse kind of takes the cake, though, if I'm honest."

Especially a talking, sparkly horse suited to her own personal brand.

"Yeah. Well. A bat and losing powers is up there too," Jessica said after taking a gulp of her drink. "I wonder what else lies in store for us. I've been reviewing a few of the broadcasts and some of it is pretty weird."

Annie considered that, then reached for the rum and added a lot bit more. "There we go. Now it's, like, a rockstar's breakfast, at least."

Primary Steve seemed like someone who could appreciate a little showing off.

True. Lucifer had issues with the axes being in a bar but honestly? A little axe throwing sounded therapeutic at this point.

So picking up an axe, she hurled it at the target, embedding the target and knocking it over.

"Okay. Maybe a little less muscle," she muttered to herself before walking over and putting the target upright again.

Eric had been in Shreveport the whole weekend and was going to be so sad to have missed ponies!
