Rey's Warehouse- Friday afternoon

Was Rey ever glad to have showered last night. The egg nog was at least an issue that was easily dealt with today, and she decided that maybe it was just going to be a meditation day today because of it.

So she was sitting on the floor of the warehouse with her eyes closed and doing a decent job of ignoring the woodchucks who seemed a little peeved today. "No, you can't come," she finally said.

Anakin was here right on time. "Ready for your party tonight?"

"We'll see," she said, opening her eyes. "I was still receiving boxes before I came here."

"How big are these boxes?" Anakin wondered.

[thatwaslucky]

"Big," Rey said. "One full of alcohol, and a bigger one filled entirely with those red plastic cups."

[sith_happened]

"Well, it's not a giant Earth party without red plastic cups," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"I have some. I don't know why we need that big a box for them."

She'd never been to a party like this and didn't know that people would be setting their cups down all night, immediately losing them, then needing to get all new cups.

"Well, they are all exactly the same and people get distracted," Anakin said, "and so they just get a new cup. You'll find a lot of sad, forgotten drinks tomorrow."

"I won't. I'm not allowed on cleanup duty." So she could put up with a lot.

"In that case, they can do what they will," Anakin said, grinning.

[thatwaslucky]

"The words 'glitter cannons' were used."

Don't let them do as they will.

Anakin winced. "I immediately take back letting them do anything they want," he said.

[thatwaslucky]

"It'll be fine," Rey said automatically. "Glitter is like sticky, colorful sand. I can handle that."

[sith_happened]

Oooh, Anakin's absolutely least favorite thing. "I could not," he admitted.

[thatwaslucky]

"It got everywhere inside my home on Jakku. I learned to live with it," Rey said. "I can do the same with glitter."

[sith_happened]

"No," said the guy basically doomed to That Glitter Life for the month of December. "I don't want to live with it."

[thatwaslucky]

"I don't know if there's anything either of us can do about this situation."

Except not go, and who was going to miss this?

"Will complaining loudly help at all?"

It would not.

[thatwaslucky]

"Probably not," Rey said. "Does this mean you're coming?"

[sith_happened]

Anakin smiled. "I can make a brief appearance."

[thatwaslucky]

"Great," she said, grinning. "It'll be fun. Probably very loud, but fun."

[sith_happened]

"I live with two small children," Anakin said, "I'm used to loud."

Anakin was so wrong.

Rey paused. "Okay, maybe that's the same."

No.

[sith_happened]

"It's probably close enough!"

No.

[thatwaslucky]

It was a wonder the cops weren't called.

Except they were all at the party.

"There will be a lot of people there, apparently," she warned.

[sith_happened]

"I won't stay long," Anakin said, smiling. "No one wants to party with a boss, anyway."

[thatwaslucky]

"I'm sure no one will be thinking about that," Rey assured him.

Because everyone would be too drunk to care.

"I'm glad to hear it," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"And if you want to take a reindeer home, you can."

There'd be one here next week for him, at any rate.

"I think I'm all right living reindeer free," Anakin tried, "but thank you."

[thatwaslucky]

"I have so many reindeer," Eey sighed.

[sith_happened]

"Just take them to people's houses--not mine--and leave them there. People will think it's Fandom whimsy."

They would not.

[thatwaslucky]

"They won't after tonight."

Also she knew where you lived, Anakin.

[sith_happened]

"Maybe they'll think the island liked them so much they moved them around?"

Nope.

[thatwaslucky]

"They'll think 'Rey left me a reindeer.'"

Who knew what they'd think of the Santa hats popping up.

[sith_happened]

"How nice of you to share with others who aren't me," Anakin said, smiling.

[thatwaslucky]

"I can share with up to eight other people. Nine if I could the snowman."

The leg lamp was Annie's.

[sith_happened]

Cade had probably stolen the snowman.

"Or you can just stick them on rooftops?"

[thatwaslucky]

Thank god for Cade.

"Let's hope I don't get desperate. Maybe they can be party favors." Rey did not quite understand party favors.

Like Anakin knew how party favors worked. "Sure!"
