The cotton candy was gone. The llama was gone. The panda was still there, but that was to be expected. Astrid really hadn't noticed any odd Christmas stuff that day, so overall, it was almost startlingly normal at the store. She spent some of her time making some signs that Summer had assigned to her for some sales coming up next week, she twittered a little at the canary and fed the turtle, and drew a few new postcards for the box featuring them, and a few of Apu that he didn't seem very impressed by and insisted looked nothing like him.

It was almost a little boring, if she was honest, but she wasn't going to complain.

You know what? Prompto had an idea, and now he couldn't let go of it, and he was coming into the store after talking with Nina for a bit.

"Oh, hey, Astrid!" he beamed because it was always nice to see a familiar face whenever he did pop back to the island. "How's it going?"

"Hey, Prompto." Astrid gave him a small smile, because it was hard to avoid something like that when faced with that kind of energy, and she shrugged. "Not too bad. Just...you know...working the store. When you'd get back?"

"Oh, just today," Prompto assured her with a nod. "And just for today. Had to take care of a few things, y'know? And...speaking of which...I'll get right down to business. Do you guys carry any duck-sized Santa hats?"

Out of all the things Prompto could have asked her about, Astrid had to admit that was not even remotely on her list.

And yet, oddly enough, she was not feeling terrribly surprised.

"We might?" she offered. "We theoretically have everything here." Except duct tape. "So maybe....pet aisle?"

"That makes sense," Prompto agreed with his smile brightening a little more. "I'll go check it out! And, hey, if anything, if you guys don't have any, maybe I could check Furnado next, stop in and see all the puppies while I'm there! Thanks, Astrid!"

And, with that, he went on a quest, to find the best Santa hats with which to deck the ducks (and flamingos!) in the park with. There might not be a lot of Fandom Christmas weirdness going on that day as far as he could tell, so why not just go make his own?

Well. At least Astrid knew what postcards she would be working on next.

Maybe all her friends would enjoy some Christmas cards featuring ducks with Santa hats on them, too...
