The cat was still here? Seivarden had only spoken to him once or twice as far as she could remember, but even after two years it was hard to forget being served drinks by a cat.

Of course, since it had only been two months in Fandom, it made sense that the cat should still be here.

Seivarden leaned against the bar. "I'll have a Margarita."

Best order drinks and just see how others mix them.

Oh. Oh dear, Seivarden, you thought Cait actually did anything?

Okay, he made weird combination drinks just for Summer. But otherwise--

"Tino! A margarita fur th' a body!"

While Tino went to go do that, Cait looked back at Seivarden.

"It's best tae keep heem thrang."

"You get Tino to do all the work?"

Why hadn't she thought of that? She knew people who might disapprove though.

"I believe we are colleagues now, by the way. I'm Seivarden Vendaai."

She didn't expect the cat to remember her name.

Stark usually stopped in at Caritas on Wednesdays but there was nothing preventing him from going any other time. Since his apartment seemed to be very quietly singing or humming or something and he wasn't entirely convinced it wasn't raccoons or just something he was imagining he decided to try going somewhere else to see if that helped.

Of course he ended up somewhere else with more mysterious music but at least there was usually music playing here and it didn't feel quite so odd.

He nodded a hello to the cat behind the bar.

Seivarden didn't recognise the person with the mask, but then it had been a while. She sipped her margarita, then said:

"New here?"

"Cait," he said affably, even though he did remember her name. But then, Cait was smarter than he acted—by design. "Tino's a helpful sort. Makes life easier here—a tip fur ye frae me, as a present! Didne ye ain th' flower shop?"

"Mask buddy! hoo dae ye feel abit gantin sweaters?"

I don't like a gold rush, gold rush…

"What can Tino gie ye?"

"I used to, yes," Seivarden said. "Before I left. I just returned, but there's just been a couple of months here, although for me it was two years."

Stark shook his head. "No." He paused. "Sort of? I was here before, and I came back. Twice. I'm Stark."

Her husband's actin' different, and it smells like infidelity...

Tino set the margarita down on the counter.

"Weel, noo, shoods ah be sayin' welcome back ur consolin' ye?"

"How do I feel about what sweaters?" Sweaters were coming up conversation so often this month.

"Um. Something sweet, Tino." Tino wasn't prone to offering up terrible drinks to Stark so a vague request was probably safe enough.

Well, his accent was very thick, so Cait was used to not being understood.

"Gantin? Awfy? Offensife tae sensibilities?"

FYI I listened to Gold Rush on repeat about 40 times this morning.

Seivarden gave an amused snort. "A bit of both? Although I am able to get back without the help of friends this time. The Fleet Captain thought I needed to take some leave on this island."

:D Long Story Short is my repeat song at the moment but I looooove Gold Rush.

"Seivarden Vendaai." She bowed slightly, still being used again to being among Radchaai.

"I just came back too," Seivarden said. "Never thought I would. Last time was worse though, I was stuck for several years."

"Oh! The ugly ones, for Christmas." Stark nodded. "I don't have one. ~~Yet.~~ Some of them are amusing. There were at lot at the party last weekend. I don't really understand them."

"Ah, bosses, they be loch 'at! Ah imagine th' guid ones ur a bit loch parents."

He didn't know. He was a stuffed toy who'd had life breathed into him.

"Always thinkin' they ken best. Dae ye hink ye need tae be haur?"

"Me neither!" he said blithely. "But they ur apparently th' style in Dizember! Ah loch 'at they're warm an' some ur shiny."

Stark nodded in return. A bow was different. "Hello Seivarden."

"You were stuck here? Or somewhere else?"

"They do seem warm," Stark said. But non-ugly sweaters do too! "Cozy. And sometimes very shiny. I saw some with lights on."
