The Perk, Sunday Afternoon
"It's been two," years, "months, you're really holding a grudge, aren't you?"
Seivarden snorted as the barista glared at her.
"All I want is loose leaf tea, the best quality you have, preferably prepared wearing gloves. Considering the strange mixed coffee drinks most people order here you can't claim that's hard."
Silently the barista began to prepare the tea. Seivarden waited, not letting her discomfort show. Yes, they were useless, but ignoring the insult would have been the proper way to deal with it, and she had failed that. She was back where she started, wasn't she? What had Breq been thinking? She had been doing well, mostly, she had had a place and a purpose, and now she was here again, it had felt different but it wasn't really, was it?
"Aatr's tits," she muttered, not even sure what she was cursing for, and picked up her tea and headed towards a table by the window.

Whatever. He needed a plan to deal with Johnny before Constantine inevitably did whatever he was going to do, and he needed sugar to help him through it.
"You want the caramel double chocolate," said the barista, without looking up.
"Excellent," Lucifer enthused. "Yes. Quite necessary."
He hadn't spotted Seivarden yet.

"Aatr's tits," she muttered quietly to herself, down into her teacup. She had hoped she could just feel sorry for herself with her cup of tea all by herself, and not have to pretend she was in a, if not good so at least a reasonable content mood. She would pretend though.

"Lucifer," she greeted, then added jokingly: "Still not convinced that tea is the superior choice?"
no subject
"Not unless it has alcohol in it, and we both know how you feel about that," he said.

"What is your drink of choice here these days?"
She hadn't picked that part up.

Lucifer took the cup and poured in a little from his flask. "A splash of whiskey. Bailey's would be better, but beggars can't be choosers."

Why was he making small talk? He had important plotting to do.

"I tried to, but they hold grudges," she said. Adding, after a pause:
"You're welcome to have a seat if you want to."
It would be odd not to offer.

Lucifer. Lucifer, Constantine's return had nothing to do with you.

In her current mood she might even start feeling sorry for herself in front of Lucifer, and she definitely didn't want that.

"Should I be concerned if I see him?" Seivarden asked. "Is this some family issue?"

He headed for the door.
