The Perk, Saturday Afternoon
"A cup of loose leaf tea, preferably made by someone wearing some kind of gloves, if you can manage that."
The barista eyed Seivarden suspiciously.
She was in a good mood, and was taking that out on the staff of The Perk, in the sense that there was hardly any questioning in the tone of her voice of their ability to serve her order.
They were surprisingly efficient today, she noted briefly, oblivious to the likely reason, and then found a table by the window. Was it the good breakfast, she wondered, or just that having a part-time roommate was just what she needed? One whom, although they might not be close, was a reasonably civilised person with good cooking skills. Of course she wasn't going to stay here for long (she kept insisting on this, even though thinking about it was starting to make her uncomfortable), but making her life more pleasant while she was here was always a good thing, wasn't it?
Smiling, she sipped her tea and looked out of the window.

She gestured at the chair opposite her own.
"Have a seat if you like."

She didn't have any objections to tea, but it just didn't have the same oomph as coffee - which, Faye was typically a person who needed some oomph to counteract everything she'd done the night before.

Seivarden gave Faye a judging look.
"Tea is the foundation for civilisation."
She didn't sound completely serious, of course it was an exaggeration, but for a Radchaai there was still some truth to it.

Most of Faye's examples would be alcoholic, if anyone was curious.

She took a sip from her cup, adding with an amused grin: "But you are not Radchaai so you are forgiven for your ignorance. Have you ever tried tea?"

Look, she'd try anything once, even if it didn't have any real chance of messing her up beyond a potential caffeine overdose.

"Stop by for tea some time? Unless you're allergic to cats."
no subject
"I'm definitely not," Faye agreed. "Cats are generally adorable. I used to live with a dog, and it was - fine, but cats are definitely better."
no subject
"They are." Seivarden grinned. "Issa seems to have forgiven me for leaving her with Summer when I went back home."

The dog she'd lived with had been a genius. It was a normal question, as far as Faye was concerned.

And Faye liked him a lot more than she tended to let on.

That surprised Seivarden of course, but not for long, this was Fandom.
"Is that a thing where you're from?"

Faye would have some questions for Patriot, if she ever ran into him.

Seivarden was aware that some answers she might have issue with, even if the reasons behind the issues might have changed a little.

Never mind the fact that Faye was actually worth quite a bit of money, herself.

"Do you miss it?"
