Duke was still clinging to the pretense of teaching this class by his fingertips, so he was at the front of class, the list on the board slightly expanded.

"Right, so, who here turned into something stupid this weekend?" he asked. "I did not. The weirdness skipped me entirely. Possibly for the first time since I moved here. But someone I care a lot about did, which brings me to our discussion question for the day: how to you talk a mermaid into sleeping on land, so she doesn't drown when she turns back into not being a mermaid the next morning?" He spread his hands. "Anyone? Technically, 'make it a royal quest' did work, but she still ended up very miserable and cold on Monday."
