Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

After the quiet of the last few weeks in the warehouse, Rey figured that she could take some time to do something that required more concentration. Today she was running through forms with her staff, trying to adjust the movements for something with two ends, and it was going pretty well.

At least until a piece of wood came flying... well, not at her, but towards her, wide enough that she didn't even have to dodge it.

The woodchucks had returned, and one of them immediately fell over.

"...Have you been hanging out with the raccoons?" Rey asked.

Yes. The answer was yes.

Anakin came in and sniffed the air. "Have you been drinking terrible beer?" he asked.

"No, but the woodchucks have," Rey said, frowning at them.

She wasn't mad, just disappointed.

Anakin made a more judgmental face at them. "The sun's still out."

[thatwaslucky]

"I think they might just be getting home," Rey said, in a hushed voice so she wouldn't embarrass them.

It was kind of adorable that she was worried about embarrassing them. Anakin didn't have that kind of innate social skill.

"Don't day drink!" Anakin called after them, then dodged the wood they threw at him.

"Well, it's too late for that now," Rey pointed out.

"They'll remember it if it's reverberating in their heads," Anakin decided.

[thatwaslucky]

"That's not nice at all," Rey pointed out.

Like one hadn't drunkenly thrown something at her.

"It is not," Anakin agreed, smirking.

[thatwaslucky]

"That's not a compliment," Rey said, amused anyway.

[sith_happened]

"I'm not very good at nice," Anakin said.

Aeryn says excuse you.

"I'm just saying, we've all made incredibly stupid mistakes. And they're going to have very bad headaches," Rey said.

He learned it from watching her! Kinda!

"Then they should learn not to hang out with the other rodents who are very terrible influences," Anakin said.

"They throw wood at us on a regular basis, I don't know that they need anyone else to be a bad influence," Rey pointed out.

"That was just being violent," Anakin decided. "Being drunk and violent would be worse."

[thatwaslucky]

"Maybe we can just find them a place to sleep it off," she suggested.

[sith_happened]

"I am not using the wood they threw to make an apartment for them," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"I meant like, just let them sleep behind the course or something, as is," she said. "Though the apartment would be cute."

She was joking with that last part.

Anakin snorted. "I am not building rodent apartments."

[thatwaslucky]

"Are you sure? I bet you'd do an amazing job," Rey teased.

[sith_happened]

Anakin made a face at her. "Oh, I think moving wood around is much more of a training exercise."

"Is this your way of saying I'm building rodent apartments?" Rey asked wryly.

[sith_happened]

Anakin grinned at her. "Your instincts serve you well."

[thatwaslucky]

"This is my own fault," she sighed.

[sith_happened]

"Maybe a little," Anakin chuckled.

[thatwaslucky]

"Is this what I'm doing today, then?" she checked. "Loud noises may make them belligerent."

[sith_happened]

"Yes," Anakin decided. "Reinforcing their bad choices."

[thatwaslucky]

"I would just like to state that I've done nothing wrong," Rey pointed out, "but will do it anyway."

[sith_happened]

"So noted," Anakin said, amused, "now start moving some logs."

[thatwaslucky]

"Yes, Master," she said with a good-natured eyeroll, lifting a hand to pick up the pieces that had been recently thrown with the Force. "Their aim really is terrible."

[sith_happened]

"I think that's probably a good thing," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"It would definitely be more embarrassing to go to the clinic because of a head injury given by a drunken woodchuck, yes," she agreed.

[sith_happened]

"Well the clinic staff is probably used to dealing with that sort of thing around here?" Anakin offered, smirking.

[thatwaslucky]

"I'd really hope not," Rey said, setting the wood down in a small pile.

[sith_happened]

"People here are remarkably unbreakable, generally," Anakin admitted.

[thatwaslucky]

"You'd think with regular invasions and this many stairs it would be the opposite," Rey said, like her most serious injury in recent years wasn't a cut on her arm.

[sith_happened]

"Stairs plus rickshaws just seems like a recipe for disaster," Anakin agreed.

[thatwaslucky]

"How are there not more concussions?" she wondered.

[sith_happened]

"Maybe there are and they just go untreated," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"That would actually make some kind of sense," Rey realized.

[sith_happened]

Anakin laughed. "It really, really would."
