Turtle & Canary; Monday [03/01].
With a toothpick carefully nestled between her teeth (look...that toothpick saved her life; if it wasn't for that toothpick, she'd be a horrible exploded mess on the gross floor of some shitty tunnel in space somewhere; that toothpick was here to stay...even if it wasn't always going to factor explicitely into the narrative), Summer set to the task of getting back into the routine after a vacation, doing her inventory and orders, and just kind of marveling over how they still managed to move a lot of product even when most of the island's residence were gone for a full week.
Which worked out great, because it meant not having to come back to a bunch of milk about to expire or whatever, but...
...actually, no, they still had a lot of milk that was getting close to the expiration date, so Summer just whipped up a sign to put in the window.
Welcome to Turtle & Canary!
It's National Milk Day!
50% off all milk!
A sign that, apparently, earned her a disparaging look from Apu and a lecture on how you couldn't just make up holidays.
"You make up holidays all the time!" Summer protested.
Which only lead to more lectures and how he didn't make them up, these were sacred institutions that you couldn't mess with, and, besides, National Milk Day already existed, and she'd missed it, and it was on January 11th!
Summer just rolled her eyes. "Then we time traveled, okay? It's actually not March 1st, it's January 11th. Happy Janauary 11th and National Milk Day, Apu. Time is just a social construct, anyway."
Boy, it felt good to be back.
