The park- Saturday morning
The weather wasn't too terrible today? At least it was a temperature Rey didn't mind, so she decided to do her training outside today. She had a usual part of the park where she did drills, so she tossed her stuff on a bench and then pulled her staff free to run through some things she'd seen in the holocron files.
She couldn't help thinking this probably looked cooler with a doublesaber.

Din had sort of settled in with the apartment above the shop, a tiny bit happy to have a room that wasn't the size of, well, him to sleep in for a change. Even if the kid was with him there still. He liked his little sleep hammock, okay? He liked it.
He also liked toddling ahead of Din in the park while the man kept an eye out for any potential threats. It was possible that the kid was looking for Skywalker to traumatize some more, so...

Because look how liiiiiittle!
"Hello there."

It was pretty great. Best thing here so far.

"Kid," Din sighed, coming upon him offering another sticky straw to a stranger. It was becoming a thing.

The kid offered the straw a little more firmly. It was wet. Why was it wet? Oh god, why?

"No," he said. They weren't going to interrupt whatever training was going on here.

And recognizing the armor.

He was now patiently staring at Rey. There were more Force sensitive people here than he'd been around in... a long time.

And also kind of recognizing something else, and sending a little wave in the Force to him.

His ears perked up at that and he did it back, albeit in a much less controlled fashion.
And Din just sort of... wondered what the heck was happening right now.

And considering the majority of the training she'd seen involved the lightsaber instead of the staff, she was just going to lean against the bench where Rey'd thrown her stuff and watch for a minute. (And, like, fine, be a little jealous that she didn't use a cool staff, herself.)

Okay, well, that comparison at least was probably new.

"I don't know what those are," she said, almost apologetic, "but double bladed lightsabers exist. That's actually where I picked the moves up."
no subject
"Really?" Annie was clearly impressed and intrigued by this idea. "You should get one!"
A pause. "Though I bet there's not, like, a lightsaber store, is there?" Maybe there was! But it just didn't seem likely.
no subject
Like she hadn't healed a crystal and repaired a whole lightsaber already.

And think of the merchandising."How was Japan? Other than the Ferris Wheel."Which had looked like fun! Way more fun than murder drones!

Honestly, kind of more sad murders and fewer explosions than she'd expected, but otherwise it had tracked.

Hadn't Steve like, just gotten shot?
