Turtle & Canary; Monday [03/15].
Summer's chill mood had absolutely nothing to do with the island, because, look, she wasn't here for all that. It had been a weekend back home for her, and while the family session with Dr. Wong had been an absolutely glorious shitshow, her own personal meeting with the good doc had actually been really great and helped her work through some issues that were bothering her last week that she hadn't even known had been bothering her, but now that she'd worked through it, a lot of things made total sense. So, with that perspective and the general feeling of relief that she hadn't almost died again this weekend and in fact that weirdest thing that happened was some bullshit side adventure with her dad and a talking cat, she came into the store that day to get to work and get the week started.
And was not at all surprised to see that Apu had done a great job getting everything set-up for some St. Patrick's Day specials, even if she felt that marking down anything green seemed a little excessive, but, yeah, okay, sure, Apu, edamame and seaweed snacks and matcha tea were totally Irish staples.

Well basically anything that had tryptophan in it. "Hey, babe," Barry called out from the aisles. "How as the family weekend visit?"

That was the very abridged answer.
"Honestly?" she added. "If you just ignore all the family stuff...it wasn't that bad."
It had been mostly family stuff. So....
But at least Barry had a good idea where she was coming from with all that now.
"How were things here?"

Which still felt like kind of a dangerous question to ask the present company, but...

And, eyeing Barry for a moment, she bit her lip and wondered if she could fight her own tendencies toward morbid curiousity about what that full fucking day of paranoia had been paranoid about.
He did have a class he'd be needing to get to, after all.
"Hopefully that means we'll have at least a good weekend coming up, right?"
