Turtle & Canary; Monday [03/22].
Having had such a quiet and uneventful weekend had Summer thinking a little bit more about her current schedule that seemed to conveniently have her out of Fandom whenever any of the weird stuff started to hit, which seemed, in the aftermath and everyone's stories about it, like a good thing, but dealing with an actual quiet weekend had Summer feeling a little antsy and anxious and very much like she might have a problem with her whole 'adreneline junkie' thing sometimes.
That managed to last up until the moment she walked into the store that morning, and found at least an inch of water covering the floor.
"What happened?" she asked, wide-eyed, turning to Apu for an explanation. "Did a pipe burst, or something?"
No, no, it was nothing like that. That would make too much sense. Instead, it was a failed attempt on Apu's part to celebrate World Water Day in ways that went horribly and inexplicably wrong.
To his credit, he was already working on trying to get it cleaned up.
Unfortuately, Summer wasn't so sure that a single mop was going to do much good, no matter how dedicated was attending to the task.
Sure, she had to throw on a pair of rainboots to do her inventory walk, and she put a sign out at the front of the store warning people of the very minor flood inside, but honestly? When the turtle and the canary splashed by her at some point, it was all adorable enough to almost make it worth it. At least someone could enjoy it, and at least an inch of water wasn't that bad.
At least an inch of water wasn't likely to hide anything that might come out of said water.
See? Always a silver lining.
