Rey's warehouse- Friday

Rey had been feeling kind of off this morning, so she'd decided to run the course with Barry's drones to work some of it out. And because she didn't do as well when she felt off, and because she got frustrated when she didn't do well, that only led to her making more small mistakes.

One of those mistakes was dropping the remote for the drones. Which would have been fine; the drones chased after you as long as you were holding the remote. Except then a woodchuck picked it up.

So Rey had spent a good portion of her time in the warehouse chasing after a woodchuck that was being chased by drones, and apparently the real training was keeping the woodchuck from getting hit with any tennis balls. The good thing was that she'd completely succeeded there, and finally got the remote back from a very angry woodchuck, but maybe today was more of a meditation day?

Anakin arrived after all of the excitement was over. "Rey?"

"Yeah," she said, from her position on the floor, nice and safe, where she couldn't drop anything that would start a crisis.

[sith_happened]

"You look very comfortable," Anakin observed.

[thatwaslucky]

"It's a meditation day," she said with a frown.

[sith_happened]

"How's it going?" Anakin asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"Not great. I'm waiting for woodchuck revenge."

Oh, it was coming.

[sith_happened]

"...woodchuck revenge?" Anakin repeated, looking around slightly warily.

[thatwaslucky]

"I had the drone going and dropped the remote. A woodchuck picked it up."

So YEAH.

[sith_happened]

"How many times did you get shot?" Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"I didn't. The drones follow whoever's got the remote," she said, and added quickly. "So you just missed me chasing a terrified woodchuck while trying to block tennis balls from shooting at him."

It had been a bad day.

"Oh no," Anakin sighed. "Yeah, they're going to be angry."

[thatwaslucky]

"Yep," Rey agreed. "It's deserved."

Didn't mean she had to like it.

[sith_happened]

"They shouldn't have taken your things," Anakin said, "but try arguing that with a woodchuck."

[thatwaslucky]

"I dropped it because I was doing badly on the course," she admitted.

[sith_happened]

Anakin's forehead furrowed. "That's not like you," he said, sitting down. "Something going on?"

[thatwaslucky]

"I don't think so. I'm just off today." It was more like the accumulation of little things over the last little while getting to her, but she was sure it'd all just go away. "I do have bad days sometimes."

And then she dealt with them by getting mad and frustrated and driving Leia up the wall.

Anakin nodded. "Is the meditating helping to get through that?" he asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"It would, but I know once my guard is down I'm going to get a plank of wood to the head," Rey admitted.

[sith_happened]

Anakin smiled. "I can be on guard against that for you?"

[thatwaslucky]

She loved you right now, Anakin.

"You wouldn't mind?"

[sith_happened]

"Of course not," Anakin said. "Relax. I've got this."

[thatwaslucky]

"Thank you," she said, straightening a little and closing her eyes.

[sith_happened]

Anakin did as well, but to sense the incoming barrage of wood from the woodchucks.

[thatwaslucky]

Rey, for her part, tried to relax and settle into the Force, and tried not to wait for the sound of whatever she was sure was going to happen.

This, she realized, was why other people had trouble meditating.

"Breathe," Anakin murmured. "I've got this."
