Wellspring Arms | Tuesday

Faye had been warned about this week awhile back, and so once she realized it was everyone and not just her, she was pretty delighted.

She made absolutely no attempt to pretend to be at work today; she instead blatantly posted up behind the counter, putting her feet up on it as she fired off idle, flirting texts to people and actually considered how much time, realistically, she really had in one week.

[open, and feel free to mod that you got one of those texts unless you're a student or something, gross.]

It was while Shunsui was...relaxing...recovering...whatever you'd want to call it, in the onsen when his ~~shamelessly modded omg~~ text came through, and he, of course, would be remiss if he didn't respond, tempting fate by being very close to potentially just dropping that phone right in the water.

Well, I certainly hope THIS text doesn't wind up being flung into the ether like so many others lately. Such a missed connection would truly be a tragedy of unfathomable misfortune ♥

nope, this text actually hit its target this time. God, could you imagine if the phones went nuts this week?

what are you up to? Right to the point, that Faye.

Enjoying the spectacularly relaxing benefits afforded to us by our own lovely island's onsen ♥

Ahh, if only Shunsui could bring himself to bring that sort of prose onto the page instead of in flirtatious texts; he'd have that next book written in no time. Actually, now that he thought about it, perhaps he would work on it a little bit. As a matter of fact, the last time he even touched it had been a week like this one, and the pages it produced were ~~outrageously graphic~~ ~~astonishingly raunchy~~ some of the best work he'd ever produced.

I'd say it's almost a perfect way to spend an afternoon if it weren't for just one thing...

Faye had a guess as to what that one thing might be.

Not that she especially wanted to hear about it if he wasn't alone, mind.

Shunsui grinned a little, taking a moment to sip down a little more sake to enhance this exceptionally nice little bubble of pleasantness he had going for him in that moment and ruminating on all the ways it could still be even more enhanced, before giving his response.

Alas, it does seem as though such an unfortunate state has indeed fallen upon my shoulders! I don't suppose you might know of a way in which this unprecedented predicament might be remedied, Faye-chan ♥?

Faye considered this information for a moment before checking a clock, and considering a moment longer.

Well. I'm stuck at work, but fortunately I don't care about my job much. So I could heroically show up to save you from that predicament.

Another text: in a bikini.

Aw yeah, emojis on both sides now.

The emoji and the addendum that went along with it was enough to make Shunsui bark out a laugh because that afforded him the opportunity for an even better reply than what he was about to type out when it hit.

Your solution may have to suffice, Faye-chan, since what ~I~ would want would be met with disapproval. They tend to be tragically dedicated to their insistence on swimsuits here ♥.

That IS tragic!! I know a lot of other places on the island where they're less prudish, if we're feeling so inclined later, though.

"If." And by 'other places,' Faye meant, like, someone's apartment, in case that was too subtle.

Shunsui could also think of a great many other options that didn't even include apartments...though they probably should.

Consider me greatly intrigued and exceptionally eager to have my mind greatly expanded with all of these...possibilities, Faye-chan. I suspect I will not be disappointed ♥ ♥ &hearst

Well, this week was a bit... weird. And Din wasn't enjoying it at all.

"Morning," he muttered, swooping on by.

"Morning!" Faye sang out cheerfully, fluttering her fingers in a wave. "And how are you this fine day?"

Look, she didn't know what was under that armor. Maybe he was hot.

He super was, but good luck finding out!

Din just sighed, shoulders doing a thing that implied it wasn't great, Bob.

Such good skincare for a guy who never took a helmet off, seriously.

"Island does this sometimes, I guess," Faye informed him, her smile broadening. She was having a great week so far, you know. She was, like, in her element.

And a perfectly groomed mustache!

"It ends then?"

"I guess?" Faye shrugged helplessly, hoping it never ended, actually. "A bartender friend told me about it awhile ago and she said it lasts about a week, but she's a vampire, so maybe it goes longer for us normal humans."

Cruel, Faye. Cruel.

"...I'll go off planet if that's the case." He really would.

"That's no fun," Faye frowned at him. It really wasn't! "I'm sure you can find someone to help you out if you looked around."

Like right here, dude. Right here in front of you. Faye was down. Did it matter that she hadn't seen his beautiful mustache? Nope.

No, first you had to show you were competent in a fight and then maybe promise to take care of his kid. And then he might be interested.

This was The Way.

"No thank you," he replied dryly. "I'll survive."

She could shoot things and make faces at the kid? Good enough, right?

"You say that now, but it's only Tuesday," Faye smirked.

"Maybe for people without any self control," Din replied. "It's not that hard."

Din. Din. You set that up for her without realizing it.

"Well, it'd probably get harder without all that armor in the way."

Bah-dum-tss.

DANK FARRIK.

"Again, I'll pass," he said with a deeply put upon sigh.

"Your loss," Faye decided, just openly crossing her legs up on the counter in front of her boss like a great employee. "This island is full of really attractive people, so. Way to make things more difficult than you have to."

They were also pretty easy, in Faye's recent experience.

"I don't remove the armor around outsiders," he said bluntly. If that helped explain his avoidance of this whole week.

"And by 'outsiders,'" Faye said, hooking her fingers in little air-quotes there, yep, "you mean...people not from space?"

Guess who was from space? Right here.

"Meaning my clan." Which was kind of the kid and even then it was a lot of religious guilt.

Faye wrinkled her nose. "Like, related to you?"

There were lines even she was not interested in crossing.

"Not like that." But kinda. "When I swore my creed, no living thing has seen my face since then."

Faye just peered at his helmet for a moment. "Why?" she had to wonder. "Like, what's that got to do with anything?"

Sounded kinda culty.

It was pretty culty.

"That it would cost more than it's worth."

"Well, aren't you no fun," Faye said, sticking her tongue out at him. "Mr. Serious Helmet over here. No one's gonna give you a medal for making it through this week without taking that thing off, you know."

"Not expecting one," Din replied, maybe a little amused by that reaction. "Just letting you know I'm not gonna be looking."

Because of the cult thing. Also because he was a bit awkward.

"Just because you're looking doesn't mean you won't find something anyway," Faye decided with a smirk.

Probably not her, mind you, though she would totally continue to flirt without any shame whatsoever.

Oh, he was going to figure that one out fast.

"I'll keep that in mind."

You did rob me, you know, texted Nick on his phone where he probably still had to touch a number button four times to land on the right letter.

I gave it back.

Like, the plastic baggie. Not the cash. But all should be forgiven, anyway!

and it was fun before that. Like, really, Nick.

There was a long, grudging pause, and also texting.

Okay it was fun

And he also hadn't met a lot of single girls on this island who wouldn't rob him so far, so he was up for bad choices.

Faye had at least two girlfriends she'd happily refer to him, like a good wingwoman, and neither of those ladies would rob him! (Drink all his bourbon, sure.)

For once in her life, Faye was considering actually using a calendar or a planner or something to, like, schedule things this week.

She'd made enough off of spring breakers to leave the locals alone for awhile. (Plus Nick was probably safe forever, given that he was onto her.)

Because, like, that promise was meaningless. She just wasn't going to do it because of other reasons, not because she was issuing a promise or because her word was worth anything.

At which point he'd expect to get robbed again but he was also pretty sure she could steal his car and he'd worry about it later.

If it was any comfort, she'd have no idea how to drive it.

I mean, I wouldnt blame you. only seems fair.
