It had been a blissfully quiet week. It had been so many days of no incident, in fact, that Silver had gone past enjoying and into the area where he was waiting for the other shoe to drop. Because someone here couldn't enjoy nice things.

He was distracting himself by actually reading the bartenders bible tucked away behind the bar. Did you know there were drinks other than straight liquor? News to him.

Seivarden had felt like going out for a drink, and since it was a Lucifer-free night at Devil's Nest, she decided to stop by. She had considered trying the Leather Pants Night, which she assumed was busier, but she had forgot about it.

"Should I ask you to make something complicated?" she asked Silver.

The sad thing was he wasn't actually new at all. He just hadn't bothered to learn anything over the last year.

"You could," Silver said, looking over the book. "But it probably wouldn't go well."

"I'll just have a whiskey then," Seivarden said. "Although I wouldn't complain if it went badly. I'm trying to teach myself at Caritas."

"It's not too often I have complicated orders, so I never bothered learning," Silver said, moving to get the whiskey. "Sundays are pretty quiet here, actually."

"So are Monday's at Caritas," Seivarden said. "I just needed a drink tonight. Not for any of the bad reasons."

She was doing very well at not having drinks for the bad reasons anymore.

"You don't need a reason to drink," he said, sliding the glass over. "At least I don't, anyway."

"Hm, no, but there often is one," Seivarden said. "And tonight it's getting out of the apartment."

She took a sip from her drink.

"Have you worked here long?"

"Is that's when you arrived here?"

Seivarden wasn't sure if they had spoken before, if they had it must have been the first time she was here.

He nodded, though 'arrived' wouldn't be the word he would use. It was more like washing up ashore by accident.

"Yes, I pretty much got the job by accident when I came in here for a drink," he said. "How long have you been bartending?"

"Strange how that happens. Is that a book of drinks?" she asked, leaning over the bar just enough to peer at it.
