Sunday, Late Morning- The New Fix & Clean Shop
Dwight gave a sigh as he set his duffle bag on the dusty counter and looked around. The empty shop had obviously not been used in quite some time if the layer of dust and cobwebs were any indication. The place definitely needed a little fixing up and some TLC before he could officially open, but that was why he was there early on a Sunday.
His other bags were still in the truck waiting to go upstairs to the small apartment that was located over the shop. He would grab them in a minute, but first he wanted to get a better look at the shop he was going to be running. After all, receiving a letter from some relative you have never heard of saying you inherited a shop on some unknown island is a hell of a way to start up a new business.
Dwight gave a sigh as he started unpacking his first bag. An unusual nervousness was building inside him though as he thought about everything that had changed recently. It was a big move after all, leaving Haven and everyone behind for the first time in his life. And there was also the fact that he had spent most of his first day on the island yesterday on the Cape Rouge drinking with Duke Croker of all people. This truly was an ‘odd’ little town he mused as he thought back to everything Crocker had said yesterday. Though he still was unsure about a lot of things, Dwight was still looking forward to starting his new life on Fandom Island and seeing what lie in store for him.
With that, Dwight opened the door to the new Fix & Clean shop, letting the light and fresh air come in as he started wiping away the dust, cobwebs, and watched as the small town began to come to life.
(Open :) )

(There was no doubt in her mind that they would be annoying; she just needed to figure out if it was tolerable-annoying or burn-down-her-building-and-move-again annoying).
So there she was, with her mug of coffee, eyes narrowed slightly as she sipped and made her so far silent assessment.

He stopped short though as he stood though, suddenly getting the feeling like he was being watched...

So. Probably very focused or very unaware, one of the two, maybe just dumb, that was possible, too. Could be worse. No sign of any kids or pets, sonthat was good. Same thing couldn't be said about that hair...
She looked into her mug for a moment, judging which would come first, him noticing her or the bottom of it. She could only be so lucky if it was the latter.

"Oh, hey" he said, taken a bit off guard at how silently she had managed to walk up without him noticing, He usually prided himself on his superior senses and awareness- kind of had to be the name of the game when dealing with his Trouble.
"Sorry, didn't notice you there," Dwight said as he brushed off his hands. "Name's Dwight."
no subject
"New in town?" she asked, with all the stoicism a question like that in a situation like this deserved.

"Just arrived late yesterday. Figured I'd stop by the shop and work on getting her fixed up a bit before the official opening. Look like she's been empty for a while so got my work cut out for me."
He regarded her again for a moment then spoke again.
"You live around here?"
no subject
Oh? Did he ask something about herself, too? Rosa hadn't noticed...

AirTrek was still one of her most favourite things.
But she also loved seeing new people and a shop open that hadn’t been open caught her attention enough that she dropped down to ground level and made her way over to the doorway to peek in curiously.
She was a tiny girl, who looked about ten years old at the most, with enormous blue eyes, black hair, and wearing an absurdly elaborate outfit.

"Better not be another Lucifer Morningstar..." he thought to himself. His mood shifted and a soft smile spread over his face as he turned and looked at the small figure standing in the door.
"Well, hello" he said giving the young girl a smile as he walked from behind the counter. "I'm Dwight. What's your name?"
no subject
"Are, are you just moving in? It's nice to meet you!"
no subject
He dropped down to one knee so he was closer to level and gave her the friendliest smile he could.
"Yes I am. I'm setting up a new shop here and will be staying here in town."
no subject
"It's nice here," she shared, looking around the shop curiously. Nice was... maybe not the word some other people would use for the island but Alluka never forget how much better it had made her life.
"What kind of shop will you have?"
no subject
Dwight smiled but then realized that those kinds of things might actually happen here. Well... time would tell.

They'd work on that.
Anyway, he was jogging past when he saw someone in what had previously been an empty shop front. He paused to look, considering going in to say hi, when Probie made the decision for him and darted through the door.
"Probie! Probie, no -- he might be allergic! Probie! Dammit, dog. . . ." He rushed after her, and flicked the new guy a weak grin. "Um. Hi. Pardon the puppy, please."

“No worries, mate” Dwight said with a grin. “Cute looking pup you got there.”
no subject
Probie was cheerfully coming over to investigate Dwight. Maybe he smelled neat! Or would offer pets! Or treats!
Travis shrugged sheepishly. “We’re working on it.”
no subject
"She's absolutely beautiful. Pit bull right?"

Dwight smiled at the pup and then sighed. "My daughter always wanted a dog but we were never able to get one. May have to consider it now after this move."

Slight skills, but some.
"Hey." Miguel lounged in the doorway and looked around. "Wow this place is dusty. You new?"
no subject
"Yeah... she's a bit dusty but I'll get the place up and running soon enough. Name's Dwight."
