When Summer came in that morning for her usual shift, after a...we'll just say less productive and somewhat worrying family therapy session that weekend, she had to stop, pause, and look suspiciously around at all the camping gear that Apu had apparently dragged out to feature and display over the weekend.
Because, like, how had he known? Summer was still sort of reeling over the fact that her dad had been talking about wanting to take everyone on a family camping trip, and Dr. Wong (that traitor!) had actually said it was a good idea, and now Summer was walking straight into camping gear at her store, and it felt like a straight-up conspiracy.
"What?" she asked, with a faint, nervous sort of hopeful laugh in her voice. "Is it International Camping Day or something?"
It was, unfortunately, not. That, apparently, wasn't until November, and he just put out camping gear because summer was coming up and he figured maybe there was someone out there who might be looking to get some. To which Summer could only groan miserably and wonder if that someone was supposed to be her.
Ugh.
Thankfully, she had some work to do, so she was just going to try her best to ignore all of it, even when she happened across some aggressively gendered pink-colored camping supplies that literally had her name on it because whole motif was labeled 'Summer Fun!' with sparkly lettering, and just hope this wasn't all just a sign of her impending camping-with-family doom.
