Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

Yesterday when Rey had stopped at the warehouse she'd found quite a few very large bags of sand. She'd figured at the time that she'd walked into a spoiler and that Anakin was going to add it to the obstacle course, but today the bags were still there. So maybe it wasn't him, and it was just a Fandom thing?

Well, today she went and covered certain spots of the course in sand that would make it harder to run. Surely he'd appreciate that.

Anakin was in a much better mood than last week, at least until he spotted the sand. "Why is there sand?" he asked warily.

"It was just here, so I decided to use it," Rey told him. "I thought you brought it at first."

He made a face. "I will rarely buy sand."

[thatwaslucky]

"I should have figured," Rey admitted. "But it's an added challenge to the course."

At least until it got knocked off and became a mess off the course, at which point it'd just have to get swept out. Because sand.

"I suppose I should try it out, then," Anakin said. "The paintball class today used mirrors."

[thatwaslucky]

"Is that good or bad?" Rey wondered. He seemed in a better mood than last week!

"It was good--different," Anakin said. "You have to see past what your eyes are telling you."

[thatwaslucky]

"That actually sounds pretty interesting," Rey admitted.

And it was kind of great to immediately know that she knew how to approach that.

Anakin nodded. "How would you deal with it? Some people were going in circles."

And that's when he shot them. Mwahaha.

"The same way I would versus a remote with my eyes closed," Rey said. "The mirror's only going to lie."

"Good," Anakin said. "It took people a while to realize that."

[thatwaslucky]

"It's different when you think you need to watch for other people, as opposed to being able to feel it out," she said.

"That's what made this so challenging today," Anakin said. "Like the balls last week, you need to be thinking in multiple directions at once."

[thatwaslucky]

"It's strange to automatically know how to handle that," Rey admitted, feeling a little proud of herself.

Anakin smiled. "It means you've been learning. It's a good thing."

[thatwaslucky]

"That's obe if those things that's always felt easy," she admitted. "I don't know why."

It was one of the reasons not being able to narrow down bad feelings in the past had bothered her so much.

Anakin nodded. "We all have something," he said. "Mine is knowing how things work."

"Is that the Force for you, or just learned?" she wondered.

[sith_happened]

"I don't remember learning, I just knew," Anakin said. "Same with flying. I can just see pathways and routes others don't."

[thatwaslucky]

"I can see that," Rey said thoughtfully. "It's really all... instinct, sort of."

"I was the only human every to compete in podracing," Anakin said. "Our species doesn't have the reflexes for it, usually. That's the Force, that's nothing I did."

[thatwaslucky]

"Makes sense. I've wondered about that for myself," she admitted. "I do remember learning, but the first time I ever knew I was doing something different was when I was flying."

"Doing before you could even think?" he guessed.

[thatwaslucky]

"I don't know," she said. "More like I needed to figure out a solution and then did something I normally might not have."

Anakin nodded. "That's the Force."
