Turtle & Canary; Wednesday [06/23].

The whole aquatic theme from the other week was back at Turtle & Canary that Wednesday, with the green streamers for seaweed and the blue and grey balloons meant to recall, plus the addition of some beautifully painted mopheads turned upside down to resemble....some sort of cephalopods, and a few fish constructed out of construction paper and paper plates.

There were also some pink flamingoes thrown into the mix--plastic, inflatable, a few just cardboard cutouts and at least one that seemed to have wandered in from the park. But even though those were for something else entirely, Shunsui still felt they were a nice touch.

And, sure, statistically speaking, the odds of Octavia-chan popping in this week were fairly low, he was still glad he had the scene be recreated. It wasn't too often he had a chance to take his naps under the sea.

The odds hadn't been great, but Octavia wasn't leaving for LA until later in the day, so... She turned up, eventually.

And then stopped right inside the door.

"Come on in, Octavia-chan~ ♥," Shunsui sang out, not quite at the moment he noticed her there, but perhaps a little after, grinning a little while seemingly still holding onto his current nap. "The water's fine ♥."

With that, he tilted his hat up a little, opened his eyes, and sat up, stifling a yawn.

Octavia's eyes were still on the decorations even as she took a few slow steps further into the store.

"Well," she said, with a certain kind of softness. "It came back."

"Mmm ♥?" Shunsui lifted his brows now, along with his eyes, which sent its sleepy gaze around the store, almost as if noticing the decorations for the first time. "So it has. Imagine that ♥."

His grin went crooked, and his gaze more alert and intentional when they made their way to her.

"This place," he drawled. "Just full of surprises...♥."

"Uh huh, this place," Octavia said, with just the slightest hint of a drawl at the end there, as she finally looked towards him. Her gaze, too, seemed to suggest she didn't think that was it, but wasn't about to call him out.

You know, out loud.

More than she was already doing.

"Konnichiwa, Shunsui."

"Konnichiwa," Shunsui rumbled back, doing very little to bother to mask the pleased contentment from this response, "Octavia-chan. Would the lady care for a drink ♥?"

"Don't know," Octavia rasped, finally making her way to the counter, "but if I find a lady, I'll ask."

"Mmmm ♥," Shunsui hummed thoughtfully, and, having found two cups and nestled them easily in one hand, also found his jug marked with 水 rather than 酒 to pour. "Well. I do so hate to see a perfectly good beverage go to waste, so perhaps you would be interested instead, then, Octavia-chan, and should we happen to find her," he offered the cups out with a wink, "it'll be our secret ♥."

Octavia's snort was faint, but hey, still there.

Like the careful way she reached out and picked up one of the cups. Maybe lingered with it a little before pulling her hand away again.

"I can work with that."
