Furnado Animal Shelter; Monday [07/26].
The last few weeks...or month, really...had been...
...well, it had been a lot. A little much for Sakaki, if she was completely honest, which had her wanting to lay low for a little or potentially even make an appeal to go back home, where the worst thing that could happen to a person was Yukari-san's driving or Kimura-san's....existence, but she knew how good of an opportunity it was to have the experience for furthering her veterinary career, so she was going to stick with it, she was going to stick it out, and, most importantly, she was going to get back to work.
And since she could probably use a little therapy through the adorable (and not more trauma through the vendetta all felines seemed to have against her), Sakaki spent a good portion of her morning putting together an impressive cat jungle gym out of various towers and other play structures for the cats to enjoy...which she could enjoy safely at a distance.
Any skepticism the cats might have had about the playground disappeared once Sakaki removed herself from the picture, and, sitting at the counter and working on some of her research, she just smiled happily at how much they were enjoying themselves, wishing they could know that she had done it all for them and show her more appreciation in the future, but also incredibly intent just knowing that she'd helped make their day a little better.
(Even if it was clearly making her day significantly better just to get to watch them play around, too).
