Turtle & Canary; Monday [08/02].
When things were a bit quiet around the island, the supplies and inventory aspects of Summer's usual Monday tasks went pretty smoothly and quickly, and since it seemed that Apu had a pretty good handle on the whole dinosaur theme he was going for today, she was spending some time behind the counter, focusing on some other projects that had sort of fallen by the wayside.
Namely, the whole arrack-focused party she'd tossed around a little with Seivarden, and how she'd like it to be a fancy dinner party, and somewhat exclusive, which, if you looked at her list of potential guests...it was absolutely not.
Which meant having to cull the list a little and figure out the most optimal combination, because otherwise, she just may as well invite the whole damn island, at this point.
Which she was still definitely considering, buuuuut....
Look, proper party planning only looked easy sometimes!

Okay, not really a coincidence at all. Shut up.
However when he saw the sign coming into the store his immediate thoughts gravitated to the obvious. "Who the fuck orders a squishy version of a grilled cheese sandwich?" he asked as soon as he walked through the door.
And hello to you too Summer.

"Yeah," she said, "I vote we maybe don't ask questions that we're much better off never knowing the answers to."
And then she actually saw Barry, which made her smile in a way that would have probably made her puke a little if she could actually see her own face.
"Hey, you."

Yes. That still happens.
"Hey yourself," he replied as he leaned on the counter. "I'll agree to not talk about the squishy machine as I assume that the flavor choices are made by the guy who never cleans the lines for the machine."
Was that a side-eye at Apu? Yes. It was. And if Apu heard, Barry was not going to acknowledge it.
Though now in the back of his head, Barry was working out the details on the ROI for a grilled cheese squishy would be.

She tried to keep it in check, though, as she shrugged off the comment. "Honestly, though," she admitted, "I think it picks the flavors all on its own, without any additional weirdness influence from Apu. Can you imagine what we'd probably get stuck with if he was in charge of it??"
This conversation was doing nothing to not convince Apu to go put in a timely change to the music right now, by the way.

But where would be the fun in that?

He stopped and shook his head.
"Fandom. I'm not fucking digging deeper. I'm just going to let it fucking be. If I get involved I'll fuck it up and then we'll be covered by grape squishy."
no subject
"Still," she added with a grin and a thoughtful lilt to her voice, "there are worse things to be covered in.
"And," she grinned, because this next part just could not be helped, "I'd help you clean up...."
no subject
"That sounds fucking tempting," he said leaning more on the counter. "Not sure if it is worth endangering Fandom for but... tempting."
no subject
"I'm sure this place has dealt with much worse Squishy disasters before," she noted.
Looking at you, BEES.
