Devil's Nest | Monday Evening
"Of course I still work here," Annie told Tiny, who seemed a little confused to see her behind the bar tonight. "Haven't you ever heard of summer hours, Tiny?"
In reality, Annie just hadn't had a Monday free to stay on the island for a long time, but with multiple filming projects wrapped and no class to teach, that was no longer the case.
(She strongly suspected Eric didn't care, at least?)
"It's margarita Monday," she added, grabbing the blender. "I just decided."
Partially because this weekend had been kind of a shitshow. Partially because she liked margaritas.
But mostly, of course, that she liked using the blender.
HALF-OFF MARGARITAS
Get your first one free if you tell me about a weekend visitor and don't make me sad!

Get a Drink | 8/23/21
Re: Get a Drink | 8/23/21
Did she know Annie was actually working that night? No. Was it just an exceptional coincidence that she happened to just decide to go into the Devil's Nest that night? Sure, whatever, don't think about it too much, Summer figured she had maybe a week, tops, to live at this point, so she'll do what she wanted, dammit.
"So, a couple years ago," she offered, because who needed small talk and preamble when on a potential murder death cloth anyway?, "my grampa died and was replaced by my grampa from another dimension because they royally screwed up their dimension because my brother is a horny little creep, and no one even noticed, although I knew because my brother, who also died and was replaced, told me about it, and, I shit you not, my OG grampa who's legit buried in our backyard right now showed up, thinking he could manipulate the whole 'closure' angle to get me to help him take back his spot from my current grampa, like, dude. I don't think it even works that way, and then he accused me of hating science, like, what? Sorry I don't feel like trying to manipulate a cosmic event just because you're butthurt that you took your own place, like I'm pretty sure my current grampa didn't even kill the OG grampa, I think he just, like, died, and honestly? That's just kind of resourcefulness on current grampa's part, if you ignore the whole 'oh, yeah, that dimension is totally trash now,' I've been there, it sucks, but I will say this, I am a total badass there, but all the other humans are monsters, so that kinda sucks for her, you know?"
And, sure, there was elements of sadness embedded pretty deeply in all of that, but Summer was obviously going for the 'info bomb with WTFery so you don't even notice the sad parts' in this particular example.
"Anyway!" she concluded. "Hey, Annie, this is cool! You're behind the bar again and I can actually get a drink from you that isn't soda!"
Re: Get a Drink | 8/23/21
Like, what else did you say to that? God, Annie had clearly had, like, the easiest weekend guest ever if this kind of thing was on the table.
"So, wait." She was getting a drink together, because you super earned it there, Summer, but also. "Don't they miss your brother and grampa in their original dimension? The horny monster one?"
Re: Get a Drink | 8/23/21
"First of all," she started, "almost all versions of my brother are horny monsters, one way or another, and, secondly, no way. Well, not Grampa Rick, anyway, they hate him and blame him for turning the entire world into twisted Cronenberg monsters and then bouncing. They did want to keep Morty to replace him, but they were suuuuuuuper into trying to kill me, just because I, quote," she lifted her fingers for emphasis, "'stink of Rick.' "
To be fair, Summers trying to kill each other, or at least beat them up and lock them in dressing rooms to maybe steal their lives, was fairly common.
"I mean, fair, but also rude."

And while he and Tony hadn't been visited over the weekend--and this time hadn't led him into a spiral of self-loathing because his dead best friend hadn't visited because Bucky hadn't been dead--he had heard that Wanda had, so he was just...checking in the bars.
Just in case.
"Hey, Annie," he said with a smile.
Re: Get a Drink | 8/23/21
Turns out she wasn't, no.
"Hey," Wanda greeted. "How was your weekend?"
Re: Get a Drink | 8/23/21
If Howard Stark showed up, Steve would punch him. "Can I get you a drink?"

She hoped! It had been easy for her, compared to a lot of people she'd talked to.

Of course Nick was oblivious to it.

Different from the dead people he ignored at the other bar.

There was probably plenty of whiskey and bourbon was usually her drink of choice but the potential lack of booze was a source of concern, damn it.

Re: Get a Drink | 8/23/21
Probably not a surprise?
Re: Get a Drink | 8/23/21
She gestured for the whiskey. "Make it a double."
