"What on Earth has Eric done to the bar?!"

Lucifer stared at the massive axe range in absolute horror. And then the rafters. And the piano space. And the bar.

This was going to cost so much time and effort to fix.

He strolled towards the bar with big bloody steps, his repressive zen of the past few days immediately forgotten as he reached for his phone. "I'm going to get an interior decor-- call incoming?"

He lifted the phone to his ear. "... Linda?"

"Lucifer, why the Hell am I in Baltimore?!"

It was going to be a night.

Lucifer sighed. "I'm not going to take back your gift," he said. "Tiny can serve me the good scotch just as well."

"Fine. Fine," Jessica said, refilling Lucifer's drink anyway. "But this shit is better shared anyway. So do I need to start calling you a different name now? Genuflecting when I enter the bar?"

Lucifer groaned. "Please," he said. "I don't actually know if it worked. One minute everyone's..." He waved vaguely with his glass, the better to avoid actually thinking about it, "...the next I'm here."

"Have you tried smiting anyone?" Jessica immediately asked. "I have a list."

"No," Lucifer said. "No, I have not. No-- smitey. It's bad enough my Father lost control and exploded a human."

"Fine. How about just a minor miracle. Like the IRS forgetting that I need to report taxes every year?"

Now she's just teasing.

Lucifer groaned.

"I am going to spend at least a week drinking heavily and getting laid in peace out here before I even think about it," he muttered.

It was possible he'd wait much longer than that.

"Okay. Clearly a sore subject," Jessica said taking a swig of her drink. "But here's the thing: Are you okay? I can barely deal with that kind of celestial bullshit but... Whatever happened, you're fine, right?"

"I almost burned away to a crisp, but it didn't take," Lucifer said, taking another big sip, "So yes, I suppose."

"Well I guess that's the bright side of things. At least physically," Jessica offered with a trace of doubt in her voice. Then she clinked her glass against his. "Good to have you back."

"Good to be back," Lucifer agreed. He was relieved to be away from the topic, frankly. "And good to see you in my club once again, Miss Jones. Are you sure there aren't some misadventures on your part to report?"
